Really lovely staff, who were engaging and personable! We didn't have food.

On a big rugby match day, avoid this place like the plague. They up the prices by about 40% for a simple pint, and the beer is poorly maintained. When I raised an eyebrow at paying £17 for two pints of guinness the barman smugly remarked “yes, we charge more on rugby days”. There are plenty of great spots in twickenham on a match day - the fox on church street is much better and they have a little bit more respect for their customers.

My first visit here since the new management took over. It’s a decent pub and has quite a few different beers on offer and a couple of ales. They also show all of the sport. The main issue was the service. It was pretty quiet and myself and another customer waited ages to be served whilst two staff members were chatting away at the end of the bar. Worse still after they served the first person they tried to serve someone else who had just got to the bar ahead of me! Not having a handle on who is next at a quiet bar is unforgivable. Added to that it took an hour for glasses to be cleared from our table from the previous customers. The staff were not doing much at all and were being generally inactive.Plenty of potential here but the staff need better training and a kick up the backside.

Newly reopened after being closed for a while. Had a warmer feel to it and much better service.

It's such a shame that this pub in a prime location has never been able to become popular with locals. Apart from the weekends when there were live bands and rugby days, this pub lacks atmosphere and warmth. We went there at 8.30pm for a quick drink. It was virtually empty for a Thursday. The wine I had was off probably because the bottle had been for a while.
A great place to go pre-match at Twickenham.I had linguine, was lovely, the tomatoes tasted great. Next time though I would order some garlic bread. Nice traditional pub decor.

We've been to this pub before. It was busy as it was game day at Twickenham stadium. The service and food was good considering how busy they were.

Location is just on the edge of Twickenham town centre. Good pub ambience. There’s a nice all weather garden terrace which is great. Nice food menu with well thought-out selection of tantalising contemporary dishes and a wide array of ales and beers. I had the wild boar sausage served with creamy mash, green beans and lovely onion gravy. My lunch companion had the pan fried seabass served with green beans, lovely spring onions mashed potatoes. This was topped with white wine creamy sauce that had brown shrimps and chives. I must say the food was generally above average quality. The restaurant team and the waiting staff were extremely polite, eager to help and very cheerful.

Not a bad pub at all. Didn't try the food, looked good though. Worth a visit.
