Food and staff fantastic. You would be hard pushed to better the food in a top Manchester restaurant and you certainly could not match the price. Will be back soon.

Before I start my rant, I want to say that I do understand the concept of the college restaurant, which I’m guessing is to train and educate the young students in the real world of catering whilst subsidising the paying guests for their patience and understanding (however, my patience and understanding ran out within minutes of entering the building). We walked in and were shown to our table by a fed up looking teenager (no welcome or smile or anything that resembled pleasantries), she clearly didn’t want to be there. Do you make them pick straws in the morning and the losers have to work that night? Our order was taken by an equally depressed waitress… We waited what seemed like a life time for a drinks waiter, who only came over because I was throwing my arms around in semi convulsion mode to get his attention. The Langoustine starters came out which we couldn’t eat as there was no meat on them (I’ve seen bigger goldfish!). They actually took our order before the family next to us who were already sitting at their table when we arrived (looking like they’d also lost the will to live!) It was at this point we couldn’t take anymore. I went over to the table with the bills on to pay and even here the bored looking girl got it wrong, I was asked to pay £20 plus as she got the tables mixed up! I do not blame the students for any of the above, I blame their mentors (exactly who was showing them what to do and how to act?) I didn’t see anyone who looked in charge and therefore no one I could direct my dissatisfaction at. We left and on a positive note, I picked up an Indian takeaway on the way home (delicious). A great training opportunity was missed last night, my suggestion would be to close the doors and don’t open them again until you have trained motivated students to want to impress the locals with their willingness to offer great service. Until this happens, would we revisit? not in a month of Sundays

Fantastic location for a business meeting. Our hosts from The Restaurant at Tameside One gave 100% on all levels. Stevo and Brandon excelled. All staff contributed to creating the perfect ambience and the buffet was excellent. Many thanks!
