An absolute gem, the likes of which we don’t have enough of nowadays. The walls of this totally unique community pub are bedecked with arcane treasures and curios in glass cabinets, art and photography, items of historical interest and perhaps a dozen Best Pub awards, which are well-earned because it’s a centre for community and arts activities as well as a proper boozer where strangers receive a warm welcome and a cold beer. The beer itself is perfectly looked-after with a good selection in the traditional pub style, the pub dog is a charmer, the building is phenomenal with grand high ceilings, sweeping red curtains, a conservatory and cozy alcoves with a real log fire blazing beneath the ornate Victorian hearth. The poetry night is superb on the 3rd Sunday of each month. An unusually high standard of work. The Station has heart and soul and history in spades. Best pub in Ashton, and depending on what you’re looking for, a contender for best pub in greater Manchester.

First time we’ve visited this pub (my partner lives in Ashton, I live in Manchester) and we’ll be back! Friendly bar staff/management, enjoyed our drinks, and it’s an interesting and great looking pub. Recommended.

Fantastic little gem of a pub with a true community spirit. The lovely staff go above and beyond to help however they can and love a bit of banter. Highly recommended

Not open as a pub until May.A hub for the homeless, vulnerable and people in need of food.Pauline the landlady does an excellent job in feeding, helping and directing people who need help finding somewhere to live.

CASH ONLY.Great hidden gem, few parking spaces outside, if not a bigger paid carpark close by. This cosy place has live music on and spoken word/poetry nights. It has an outside garden at the back. Welcomes all people. Check fb page for opening times as it is a community hub as well which makes it extra special. ?
