We ate 7-8 pm after climbing Rivington Pike. Chips were lovely and crisp. Fish perfect. Mushy peas nice and squishy. Pot of tea. Just what we needed. Lovely waitress service. There is a dine in seating area which was bright and clean. Spotless loo. Will call again to try the greek salad option.Parking: Parking up the side street

Gone down hill massively this place , got 2 coffees , small fish and chips and a jacket potato and cost me £26 ! Wouldnt mind if it was nice but honestly wouldn't feed this to my dog .

Never been so dissatisfied with chippy chips that ive had to chuck them in the bin, as did the 2 other people i was eating with. Hard, stale chips. Having worked in a chippy previously i know they were definitely the chips that had been sat at the bottom of the warmer for a while. Fish was dry and overcooked. Sausage was fine though and the curry sauce was bang on.Wouldn’t recommend the chips or the fish, maybe better fresh.

Service from the girls behind the counter is absolutely terrible! Was made to feel like I don’t belong there and my money wasn’t good enough, food wasn’t much

I walked into the shop with high expectations after rave reviews from friends and family only to be greeted by 3 of the most miserable women I have ever met.. who knew someone asking for a steak pudding would make someone so angry ! There was a queue of 5 people on a Friday night which I thought was reasonable however the distain that was on their faces that we had turned up and asked for fish and chips was like I had asked for them to make a Sunday dinner from scratch! If you even want to consider eating in on one of the 13 available tables you need to pay £1.40 for that luxury because having to look at the customers that they have had the cheek to come in for food comes at a price ! The food left a bitter taste in my mouth but that was most likely due to shocking service that each ugly sister gave ! All in all I’d rather sit by a muddle lake for 3 hours to catch my own cod than step foot in the blue Anchor again.

Food came quick and was warm. I had cheesy chips and beans. The beans were tiny and the cheese wasn’t great. There was also a hair in my food which is gross.
Best fish and chips in Horwich! Wouldn’t go anywhere else but here. Nice lightly battered fish, no grease on chips and curry sauce is perfect. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
