Attended for a birthday last night. There was 11 of us. Everyone enjoyed their meal and as we reordered it was brought out in a timely manner . The lady dealing with us was very pleasant and fixed a couple of issues we had with our order. Will definitely return.

Went for a birthday meal today - a party of eleven. The booking was at the end of the Caraboa Cup match and the place was full. Given the numbers in the place, we wondered if this would delay our meal. The staff were excellent, with no delay. Having eaten out at a fair number of pubs / restaurants you come to expect rather bland food, which was not the case. The food was genuinely excellent with decent sized proportions. Given our numbers, the meals were varied, but all were very happy. The bill was reasonable - expected to pay more.We would certainly recommend a visit and we will return.

With the Wilton on a downside we decided to try the Thomas Edgerton, the place had a lovely rural pub sort of feel to it despite being conveniently close to home in Bolton. We had a few drinks, my partner had a gin and myself a few beers which were reasonably priced. We skipped the starters as we didn't have loads of time but I decided to get the nacho loaded with beef, this is a MUST they were incredible. For mains we had pie and the diet starts tomorrow burger and oh my goodness, it was Delicious. The pie steak just fell to bits and melted in your mouth, it was well presented and tasted like something out of this world. It was like a fresh farm pie. The chicken was crispy on the burger and loaded with crispy onions, bbq sauce and cheese. It was spot on, finished with a creamy side of coleslaw and some well cooked fries. With that perfect crisp. Can't wait to go again and try something else! Good job guys. It wasn't that busy but it was 4.30 on a Tuesday so we didn't expect it to be, even though the service was on point because it was very quiet I have a strong feeling that even when busy they work just as hard. Thanks for everything, we will be back!

I booked a table by a phone call as I had not been before. As it was late Sunday afternoon I imagined it might have been a bit quieter, unfortunately it was full to over flowing with people squeezed into every available spot who were either drinking or dining. Considering the amount of people the drinks and meals were served reasonably promptly. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The food for mypart was OK except for the pastry on my pie was very dry.My other diners,to be fair, rated their meals quite highly. Because of the over crowding I personally would think twice about returning .
