A relaxing environment for myself who struggles with chronic anxiety would highly recommend as it's hard even enter places let alone stay in there. So I've Just had a nice quiet quick tea with my parents and wife everyone was happy with there meal and they seemed to be good sized portions. We were served at the table by a lovely young lady and given perfect timing to choose from the menus which looked impressive. As it was our first time in here we didn't book but we got a table anyway but I would recommend probably booking in advance , I would expect it would be a busy place at weekends with the Sunday roasts. Our table had Fish and chipsCheese and onion pieBeef lasagneCajun chicken and chorizoBest looking dish on our table in my opinion had to be the beef lasagne ? good job chef it cant be easy in a kitchen that size.Parking: It's a small car park , we parked on the main road with no problems.

Always go to black bull for drinks and the food always looks so decided to experiance. When we were given the menu we also received an early dining menu. It was 2 courses for £15 and the menu choices were great.Unfortunately on arrival the portion size was noticeably small and the whole table joked about it.When I asked the waitress about it I was told they reduce the size as it is a cheaper menu.If I’d now. I would have avoided choosing it and needless to say I’m starvingThe food is really good and well made and the service is excellent

Wonderfully juicy burger in a very cosy pub. Warm service, too. One of our favourites.

Nice and relaxing with people enjoying a meal. The staff appeared very attentive to customers that was good to see these days. Just called in for a drink but limited range available on our visit.

Visited just before Christmas and opted for the non-xmas menu. We were in no way disappointed. The fish and chips (small portion) were fantastic....really tasty and very well cooked. Service as always is very friendly and super attentive. Still haven't made it up to the Black As ever evening menu is well worth a try.

Firstly the bread rolls had to go back, warm on the outside frozen in the middle. Food overcooked to burn if you had garlic mushrooms. The pigs in blankets on the next table also looked burnt. The gravy has a strange taste... Then there is the thick dust on the shelves behind the seats. Not good for somewhere serving food that should be clean and dust free. Not great value for money

Who was behind the bar pouring these. Usually they are excellent so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was such a nice day in Manchester. Lovely people, doesn’t disappoint normally but all things considered proper decent.

Enjoyed a delightful Christmas meal at the Black Bull last night with family. The festive menu was a highlight, and I opted for 3 courses. The Ham Hock Terrine was a standout starter—thick, chunky, and possibly the best I've ever had. The game casserole for the main course was accompanied by two types of potatoes and plenty of veggies, while the gingerbread and orange cheesecake provided the perfect, balanced finish. Special thanks to NEVE and SOPHIA for their outstanding service; their always make it a great experience. Thank you, Black Bull!

Although we were there for a funeral buffet (sad time), we found the buffet excellent, and the atmosphere was very friendly.

Local to my area and been many times over the years. Went on the spur of the moment and was not disappointed. The girls waiting on were very friendly and made us welcome. Food was good. Had Sunday Roast and the meat and vegetables were excellent.
