The Rock Shopping Centre, 1 South St, BuryI've not been to Alfred's for a while, but called last night for tea on the spur of the moment with my two teenagers. Oh my goodness, what a delicious meal we had. I remembered just why we always liked it!!! I had the salt and pepper basket one daughter had the peppercorn basket. It really was delicious. I'm just sorry I didn't take any photos to add to this review. What we also found amazing was that the whole burger menu could be replaced with a vegetarian patty!! My teenage veggie was thrilled and had an amazing burger, she's never had so much choice!! We also had a vanilla iced coffee which looked as good as it tasted.
Service was great as always and £55 for 3 of us with drinks was well worth it. There was so much food no dessert was needed (or asked for).
Well done Alfred's, we can't wait to come back.
Vegetarian options: All burgers on the menu can be made with a vegetarian patty, plus other veggie options.

It's convenient to order from their web site.
The young lady at front of house today was especially pleasant – very apologetic for a minor delay, struck up a conversation, offered complimentary drinks and snuck in a "happy birthday" note for my partner who I got the takeaway for – well played :)

I have an intolerance to milk and she actually came to me in person and told me that she did not put any milk in my food whatsoever as i was unsure if i said it vocally enough to staff. I really actually appreciated that. She was so warm amd friendly too. I don't usually leave reviews however, she needs recognition and I will be going with my gran and sister again. Plus, my meal was hot and fit as. Thanks for a great service. My nan had a nice day out

I called them to book a table but they said to walk in. When we reached there security didn't allow us and when we explained everything then he allowed us and staff is coming to our table to notify about time that we have to leave. Half of the menu they removed one hour before.

the beer and drinks were good and the service was excellent.
Only downside is the pub seems to be lacking atmosphere somehow, but if you want decent food and drink you're sorted.
I'd happily go back again soon

I ate and drank several times here while in Ramsbottom from overseas to visit family and friends. Each time the food and wine were lovely . The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Gill the manager made sure everything was perfect.
If you are visiting or living in Ramsbottom I strongly advise you make a visit to The Hare and Hounds.

However I have been today and although the food was fine there was a young man vaping on another table . I spoke to staff who did tell him to stop , 10 minutes later he was still vaping. I find this totally unacceptable especially when people are eating , the best of it was he was sat with other staff too, maybe he was staff I don’t know but it has put me off visiting again . No one wants to sit in that environment, I think the manager needs to have a word with the staff .

The prawn cocktail was served in a very traditional manner, with it being in a coupe glass, and a Marie Rose sauce on top. Sauce was tangy, and the prawns tasted fresh. I had seabass for my main, it was well cooked and reasonably priced, it could have been plated better though. The veg and potatoes too were seasoned well and very garlicky. The tiramisu was very enjoyable, and was well presented. £35 for three courses and a bottle of beer from the a la carte menu is an incredible bargain. The venue and the facilities were clean also.

Staff very helpful and friendly, food always great,, even during busy times they always take the time to come and check everything is ok. They never rush you during busy times either, which is always a bonus, as sone places are only interested in getting you served and out the door. Highly recommend. Prices very reasonable too.

As regular customers, we know what we enjoy, and one time it just wasn’t tasteful, chips were frozen and the food standard was very poor. We considered never ordering again, but Micheal has absolutely rectified any doubts we ever had about ordering again. He personally took time to ensure if we were to order again, the food would be to high standards. I just want to say, they have absolutely smashed it out of the park this time. Everything was so perfect, the food was delivered personally, HOT and FRESH! Our usual order was even better than the usual standards, everything had a little extra and we are so so happy that the Bistro is back to the high standards we enjoy so much. We are already looking forward to next time! Thank you so much Micheal, Bistro team and the man who delivered the food (and made the chips)

Food was served quickly and as requested to ensure that food intolerances were dealt with. Clean environment. Perhaps the only (minor) recommendation is to have space for wheelchair users to sit at a table rather than having to move chairs around.
Dietary restrictions: The option to add or delete items from the menu ensure that dietary needs are catered for.
Wheelchair accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible, however in order to sit at a table chairs need to be moved.

We visited today for a sit down meal, having passed so many times but never calling in.
What a nice and friendly welcome on going in, genuinely interested and everyone calling today were regulars and no wonder.
We could have been very tempted with the daily offer but it seemed far too much and very reasonably priced. Instead we chose cod, chips, curry. Pot of tea and coffee.
Everything piping hot and not too over facing. It was beautiful. Plan to go again next week.

Wheelchair accessibility: The owners go out of their way to accommodate all disabled visitors right form the entrance.
Anyone with walking difficulties would be made very welcome, this is what we observed whilst there.

A dog friendly, cosy country pub with great food and beer. We often bring along our Labrador who loves the cosy spots in front of the fires and friendly pats from the staff here. The staff went above and beyond attending to us.the food was all served together everyone finished different foods we ordered. They even turned lights off brought out a small cake with candle on it and balloons on the house. After the meal we was all given a baileys drink again on the house.it was lovely.
