From walking in at the front door we were greeted at reception with a very warm welcome from Amanda and shown through to the dinning room for our afternoon tea. We were Greeted by Lisa who showed us to our table. Such a lovely welcome. Nothing was to much trouble. Our afternoon tea was absolutely delightful. Lisa was very attentive without being intrusive.Dietary restrictions: We were asked if we had any dietary requirements? I said raw black pepper Lisa went to ask chef and there was black pepper in the chicken Caesar wrap. So chef made some more up without pepper.

I didnt realise this place existed, but so glad we took a chance on booking in with a couple of friends. The food was excellent, service good, extensive wine list. Good parking. Highly

Lovely setting, really pleasant, helpful staff and the best afternoon tea I have had in quite a while. First time I have been here and will be returning to have dinner with friends in the near future.

A champagne high tea for 2 as a gift for our anniversary. Ryan served us, he was friendly, attentive and allowed us to choose when to have what drinks. The 3 tiered cake stand was brought to us with a selection of sandwiches and wraps, scones with cream on another plate then at the top a selection of cakes. Ryan went through what everything was. All the food was nicely presented, freshly made and a great range of tastes. Accompanied with a selection of teas, I had celebration cake tea, with a hint of cake, strawberries and cream - really good. An exceptional treat.

Excellent tasting food. We stayed at the oddfellows hotel to which this restaurant is attached. The reviews are spot on. I had a soup and gnocchi and my husband had the lamb. Best lamb dish we tasted in a while. Everything was just so fresh and well flavoured. It’s a give star hotel so it’s a bit high on price with 20 pound above for main dishes. But quality is 5 star.

Afternoon tea with my daughter and mum was fantastic. Lovely, warm, welcoming feel to the hotel as soon as you walk in. Staff couldn't be nicer or more attentive Food and drinks were delicious. As a newly diagnosed coeliac, it was great to know that gluten-free food can be just as good as what I would normally eat! Staff were knowledgeable and took care to ensure there was no cross-contamination. Thank you for your kindness and for a lovely afternoon.

Beautiful restaurant in a stunning building full of history that's been restored tastefully. Food was delicious and good portion sizes. We will be returning!

Visited Wednesday 8th. From the moment we arrived the friendliness from everyone was fantastic. Two young ladies introduced themselves and told us about the hotel and restaurant and took our coats. We were made to feel very welcome and our waiter (Peter) was brilliant. Our food was beautifully prepared and presented. Haddock main dish for my partner and I had the Chicken Supreme, both highly recommended. Will definitely visit again and would recommend

got the groupon offer lunch for 2 with a cocktail shared a starter and dessert - both nice then the fish and chips for mains again very good quality food. Since being made into a hotel the interior is gorgeous with quirky pictures and original fireplaces and staircases from 1800's. Staff were all lovely and welcoming

Staying at the hotel which is wonderful so thought we would eat here also. Food was ok, fish and chips and 3 x steaks ordered. 2 steaks over cooked but the fish and chips was nice. Service was poor. The drinks order was forgotten Steaks knives not brought out and had to be asked for to cut through the steaks. Took 10 minutes at the end of the meal to retrieve a coat that was taken at the start. Cocktails nice. Reasonably priced overall at £160 for 4 people but would expect a better Calibre of service and food given the quality of the restaurant

I was expecting the worst after reading other reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent service from start to finish. Very attentive and friendly staff and a lovely Afternoon Tea.

Visited for food this evening. The setting for the restaurant is beautiful. Very cosy and feels elegant. The chairs were really comfortable and the table dressings and small touches really added a sense of class. Cocktails were very well crafted and delicious although priced quite high they really did deliver on unique taste and expert mixology. Everything we ate was delicious, the mains weren't massive but everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. The service was friendly and professional from Tracey, Izzy and Callum which all added to what was overall a really special experience. Would recommend and return in a heartbeat.
