Been eating and drinking here for many years. Not been for a while and safe to say the place was spotless, friendly and inviting. The food was hot and very tasty will definitely be coming back.

Pubs ok, but like other reviewers say, company running their car park is a joke. Had a £100 fine back in November last year which I appealed unsuccessfully with the parking company. Was a genuine over sight where I didn't notice the signs in the dark (FYI, most of the lights above your signs don't work, plus trying to shepherd my 2 young kids in the rain probably didn't help). The last time I'd visited the Kingfisher it was free parking.Anyway I ended up taking it on the chin and begrudgingly paying the fine, I have confirmation email receipt, bank account proof etc . I've now this morning just received my 4th letter from a debt recovery firm claiming I owe them £170 due to the "unpaid" fine.Do yourselves a favour and visit one of the many other, just as good if not better pubs in the area that don't charge you for parking. The Kingfisher just isn't worth the time and stress of having to deal with their cowboy parking firm.To the Kingfisher, I'd be cutting ties with Premier Park at the earliest opportunity if I was you, judging by some of your customer reviews, they're doing you no favours.

Never been before but the pictures looked lovely and they allow dogs so we were really looking forward to our visit. On arrival we realised we had to pay a parking fee which I thought was bad for a pub car Park so I drove a little further up the road and parked for free. The outside of the pub was lovely and situated right next to the canal so we sat there to enjoy the view of the water, ducks and barges. There was a decent amount of seating but I can imagine it gets packed in the summer. The tables have QR codes so you can order food and drink from there rather than queuing at the bar. The menu looked good with nice vegetarian options. A little expensive but not much different than most places these days. I ordered garlic mushrooms for starters which came without salad . I didn't enjoy them at all, the breadcrumb was far too hard, it was like crunching stones. I just ate the mushrooms and left the rest. Next came the hand stretched ,stone baked pizzas. On arrival they looked really nice but they had used cornmeal under the base which I hate, it's messy and makes the dough tough. There was far too much thick tomato base which overpowered the cheese, we had to scrape loads off as it was all we could taste. The fries and onion rings were all we actually liked. The inside was nice and had plenty of seating with wooden floor areas you can sit if you have dogs. The toilets however were filthy. I was disgusted to see faeces on the toilet seat which was running down the side, the others were full of paper and urine on seats, all I can think of for this is parents hadn't been supervising or cleaning up after their children but staff should be popping in to check too. So personally I wouldn't go here again for food but because of the lovely outdoor seating area I'd possibly pop in for a drink in nice weather. Pub 7/10. Food 2/10.

The Pizzas are made with love and it is so noticeable in the taste and texture. It is easy to dismiss a pub like this as a plastic pub but if you do you will miss out on a good meal at a reasonable price…I’d like to see more nibbles like olives and bruschetta but that is a lot to ask for a menu that is this broad.Do try the King fisher I feel You will like it.Parking: Bit of a pain to have to pay for parking and then offset it from the bill.

Happy accident turned into my new favourite local for a family meal. Intended to go elsewhere but due to limited menu we managed to book into the Kingfisher on the fly. The food is high standard especially for affordability. The staff team were great, welcoming and even joined our table to bring out our cake for our 3 year olds birthday. Outdoor seating by the canal is picturesque especially for a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant and bar was relaxed, approachable and varied. The car parking cost being knocked off your bill is a smart touch. Couldn’t recommend more to locals and Canal enthusiasts ha ha!

Travelled down from Newcastle on Saturday to celebrate a family birthday. Heard a lot about the kingfisher so i wanted to give it a try. My sister booked a table for 16 and Even though the team was under staffed they didnt cancel the booking they worked hard to make sure all our needs was met. The food was amazing. The staff where very friendly. So i would like to thank Dale and his team that was on that day for an amazing job and for keeping their cool as it was a busy day for them. Well done guys and keep up the good work. I will be back but without the tribe.
