One of the best Chinese meals I have ever had. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the experience. Will definitely go again when we are next in the area.

Excellent food. Quick service. Love that we had plenty and was hot ( my pet hate. small portions and cold food. ) We definitely eat there again and will recommend to my friends. Shame you don’t open for lunch. Ladies who do lunch would love to eat here.

I visited Abacus early evening Sunday 25th June with my mother as a treat! We were warmly greeted on entry and given a choice of tables, we opted to sit in the window. The service was friendly and efficient. We both really enjoyed the food with flavours and the temperature being excellent. We both left very contented. We both said we would definitely return again. For me I felt it was on the high side price wise. (My mother disagreed with this) but because of the flavours, portion size and quality it certainly offers a good value treat.

Been here quite a few times over the years but won't be coming again. Staff very Pleasant and friendly. Ribs starter average, crispy duck ok. Main of salt and pepper chips and special curry nice . My wife's main was beef in black been was lovely. Only bad thing to say really was the bill was way overpriced and for that we won't be coming there again sorry

Asked for soft noodles and was given a plate of stale noodles that tasted like they had been found in the bottom of a trash can. Both of us tasted and declared them unfit for consumption so they was left. The staff member unsure of name took them away and despite being told twice they was horrible, they was still left on the bill. The other food items was okay, but nothing special. Definitely not worth the price. Very very salty! Currently drinking my 17th bottle of water since leaving the restaurant at 6.30pm, it is not even 8.30pm.

Went here tonight, the staff where polite and the place is clean but food arrived in a matter of 5 mins so to me obviously not cooked fresh I’d ordered sczewan beef I was shocked when I saw it, I’m sorry but to me it looked like it was out of a tin, had a weird film on the top and was so sweet nothing like I’ve had anywhere else the rest of the food was ok but the ribs where very dry and chewy. The staff did ask what was wrong with my beef and I explained quietly what was wrong she proceeded to remove it from the table. We left quite abit of the food incl ribs staff weren’t really concerned that we where clearly unhappy with some of the food they did remove everything from the table promptly perhaps so no one else noticed we had left food ! I’ve definitely eaten better and fresher elsewhere the food seemed warmed up if it have been half the price I wouldn’t have complained as you usually get what you pay for! The bill eventually came but it was not itemised however it looked like they may have taken off the price of the Szechwan beef which was appreciated but to be fair they had removed it from the table without actually asking though the lady did ask if I wanted another I politely refused and she told me that the dish of Szechuan is very sweet !!! I won’t go here again not because it’s bad but because there’s just nicer places to eat and spend money Not the worst experience by any way but not my best

Wanted something quick and simple before the movie. As always, the staff at abacus were super efficient and the food was a good as always.Healthy portion with super quick service, I'd highly recommend popping in next time you're looking for something to eat at middlebrook.

Had a lovely 3 course meal here this evening, the food is on another level compared to take-away, the service was great and staff were friendly, was expecting the 10% service charge as per other reviews but it's only on groups of 5 or more according to the menu.

We have enjoyed every meal here since we first went when it opened. Excellent for meals for couples, families and friends. Wide choice and plenty of vegetarian options too. You are paying for freshly cooked excellent quality food. Attentive staff who are keen to help. If you like a quieter ambience go on a week night or earlier in the evening and if you prefer a livelier atmosphere and less attention then go for a weekend. Lovely to have a genuine family run restaurant with dedicated staff in the local area. Thank you!
