What a shame, went for an early dinner 6pm, with my wife and daughter. They both enjoyed their meals. My daughter had a lamb shank and my wife had three tapas style dishes. I had a rib eye steak with a blue cheese sauce. The steak had no char on it, was mostly tasteless gristle and the blue cheese sauce had absolutely no taste at all. Unfortunately our server came to ask if everything was ok with our food before I'd even started. In the end I ate the chips, the half a tomato and a few pieces of steak. When he came back for the plates and asked again I described the issues and said I thought it was poor. When he brought the bill there was no apology and no discount offered. To be honest I should have either sent it back or refused to pay the full amount. We have eaten here before and it has generally been very good.Dietary restrictions: My daughter ate from the gluten free menu and had lamb shank which she enjoyed.

First time visiting the Joshua Bradley, I walked nearly 4 miles to get there and I was looking forward to a couple of ales and some food.That Game Casserole was nice and rather unusual to find on a menu. While it was tasty It wasn’t much different to a casserole I’ve made at home many times, minus the Game. Perhaps it was lacking the X factor.I had some carrots on the side and they were marvellous.The Hyde’s ales were 6/10 can’t remember if they were on the turn or it was the wrong pint for the wrong day.I’m sure I’ll be back one day, via the train…
Had a wonderful birthday lunch for 9 people here on Saturday March 9th, the team were wonderful and couldn't do enough to help, food was uniformly very, very good, with particularly generous desserts, good value too. Some great Hyde's ales for £4 or less per pint. It's rare to find such a wonderful, warm, impeccably clean, classy place nowadays without taking out a bank loan!
