Went for a meal for my birthday with my wife and my son. Sadly, on arrival there was no cask beer on, which is one reason I chose the pub.? Anyhow, no matter...the young man behind the bar was very apologetic and polite and cheerful! Ruth , the restaurant manager was great , and the food and service was excellent. Must say I recommend the Moorcock, and will return. ??

Amazing place, great food, great location, great views, great service and great staff. We just love it. In fact, we loved it so much that we decided to get married at The Moorcock.

Didn't stay in the hotel part, just dined in the restaurant.Food & drinks: Delicious food. Highly recommend the sea bass and the cheese and onion pie.Really pleasant, friendly staff. The young waitress (sorry didn't get her name) made one of the best Irish coffees my husband has had in a long while. She was also really helpful getting us in with the wheelchair. We will definitely be back ?

Restaurant run by teenagers. Waited for main course could understand started getting busy. Dessert course, I had find staff take order then took an age. Then when asked for bill, when received was overcharged for drinks questioned it and they tried to accuse me of going to bar whilst having my meal, none of my party never left the table ,asked to see manager which never happened. The bill was brought to me banged down in front of me , corrected to the right amount but never received an apology for their mistake. Never going again this used to be top notch. Shame.

I have been several times since the new chefs started and have now tried most things on the menu. Everything has been delicious and the service has been great.I would highly recommend the pies and the Sunday roast in particularly.

Stayed over on New Years Eve. Upon returning from our night out, the key for the front door did not work. We were stranded outside in the cold for around 30 minutes at 2.30am. Finally, the unapologetic landlord let us in - he was dismissive and borderline rude, suggesting we were at fault for not being able to open the door! However, another member of staff told us the door had been broken for around 2 weeks prior. We suggested a refund on our breakfast the following morning, as a gesture of good will, and he refused! If you are planning on staying here, I suggest you check if the door has been fixed first!Safety: Weather conditions were harsh while we were locked outside
