I'm not sure I should have expected much from a sushi restaurant in the UK but the UK is at least surrounded by water so I imagined the sushi might be at least fresh.Tuna and shiso roll - tuna looked grey and the rice was over compact and dry. Seemed like Saturday night's leftovers?Tuna tataki - the sear was not fresh and the interior looked leathery. Sauce was pretty gross. No zest, no sweetness, nothing.Chicken kaarage - chicken very dry.Scallops - underseared, probably the saddest scallops I've had for a whileMackerel nigiri - okayNote. Almost everything comes with unimaginative slices of red chilli.Cocktails were okay. Negroni should come with one large ice cube not many normal sized ones (IMO).The do have a nice painting on one wall. ?

Enjoyed a delicious meal in Sora at the recently opened Malmaison Deansgate at the weekend, the food was fabulous, all compliments to the chef and his team. A lovely welcome from Grace, and Sam and his team looked after us well. Great spot, look forward to coming back either for a lunch or summer evening dinner. The next morning the tastiest breakfast was an unexpected delight. The granola and compote looked to be homemade, really tasty - what a treat, and great way to set up the day. Enjoyed the contemporary retro vibe throughout the hotel, the central location was excellent, particularly liked the bespoke wallpapers throughout!

Everything is perfect. The food, the service, the ambience, amongst others. Had a great celebration for St. Paddy’s. Also thanks to Swarna and the team for an excellent service.

We had a voucher for a free drink at the Sora bar and decided to eat after seeing other people's food come out.The portions were incredibly generous for the price and the food was delicious. We were served by the lovely Favoa who was incredibly helpful and friendly.Highly recommended

Great views of Manchester from the 7th floor and terrace. Very tasty "Dragon" sushi with shrimps. Modern design and interior. I was with my mother, sister and my baby. We came to have dinner. And, unfortunately, I was disappointed when the baby needed to change the diaper, and it turned out that the restaurant does not have a table for changing diapers in the toilet. I had to change a diaper on a cold rise near the sink. It is strange that there is a disabled toilet, but this toilet does not have a changing table. Make such a table there and then it will be a toilet for the disabled and babies. The restaurant is new, but no one thought of comfort for visitors with babies.Kid-friendliness: there are chairs for children, but there is no table for changing diapers

A lovely seventh floor rooftop with warm lighting and a few tables and pretty good drinks and sushi. Our server, Bella (? her name was hard to hear over the music) was a sweetheart and such a Scorpio (love it) our table found her quite polite and re-assuring.We also had another gentleman come over and explain the menu to us due to one of us having an allergy. What about the food:We order the large plate of sushi to share, steak, tempura and a few drinks. The food temp was perfect and the timing was excellent. We were able to chat, enjoy our drinks and eat out food little by little. What about the drinks:The table ordered separate drinks, I'm unsure of what they were but I went with a classic sex on the beach (see pic) and each time I ordered one (I had 3) they were made...differently....? I'm not upset about it one bit, it was just rather odd but I was happy with it.What about the atmosphere:Honestly it's upscale kind of professional feeling in there. The table entirely arrived at around 6:45-7:00pm, we were able to hear each other quite well until 9:00PM where they started playing the music loudly - making it difficult for us to hear the server and each other. However, on their site I believe it said they start music at 9:00pm and have a live band or something like that. So not too upsetting but being that it is such a small place it was a tad difficult.Toilets were nice and clean - just leaving that comment for those people who tend to worry about public toilets.Overall, great place to take a 'friend' on a date, catch up with friends or to simply just overlook parts of Manchester. Don't be afraid to go alone, the sushi was excellent and well worth the price. The service was good and over all we had a great time.Side note: I know that it says we spent about 60 per person, we ordered quite a bit and decided to split it 3 way. So, for other it'd probably be around 20-30 or 30-40.Wheelchair accessibility: You can access the location via elevator.

For our “day date” to celebrate Valentines, we were looking for somewhere which offered something more than the usual fayre of expensive variations on fish & chips, burgers etc currently offered at most restaurants. After some research we booked Sora - which has just opened recently - and were certainly not disappointed! The food and cocktails menu offered many tempting Sushi Tapas options and we were guided through this before making our choices. All food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious (we particularly enjoyed the Beef Fillet Tataki, Sticky Pork Belly and the scallops). Tasteful decor and great location overlooking Manchester. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome and were friendly, attentive and efficient - hope to see you again in the near future!
