I went here with my partner last week and what a lovely authentic restaurant.The staff were so friendly and it had a great atmosphere, we just wanted some tapas type food and the staff guided us with suggestions which were so nice and so tasty.It’s definitely somewhere to visit if you have not been and o know we will be going back in the future.
We hadn't been to the Armenian Taverna for a few years. There is now some unattractive building work at the street level but once you go down to the restaurant it is as welcoming and atmospheric as we remember. I made particularly good choices of food this time. My borsch was a good warming starter for a cold Saturday evening and the Armenian goulash was excellent - more reminiscent of a Lancashire hotpot than a Hungarian goulash but with rice! Lower floor restaurant met by friendly staff who took our coats to the cloakroom, which was a blast from the past, but so good to experience good service before we even sat down.Pleasant meal with family, delicious food . Some of the dishes were traditional Armenian, I wanted to try everything, I’ll have to go back one day. And you should try it too
