Visited the metropolitan at the weekend for the first time in 15 years! At one time this place was a regular haunt for me when living in south Manchester..It was a real treat for me to return and I wasn't disappointed. It's still in my opinion one of the best pubs in Manchester and the atmosphere was as good as I remember. I certainly won't be leaving another 15 years until my next visit....

Edit: came again today for a birthday meal with 12 friends and we had a fab time! The food was amazing and Rebecca was fabulous, give her a raise! Xoxo Lovely staff and also lovely clientele (thank you to the couple who moved tables so we could come in!) Beautiful roast dinners, big portions so come hungry!

I've been here lots of times most recently I went for a meal on my own and I was feeling quite introverted so I took advantage of the order via mobile and throughly appreciated the quiet time of day.Vegetarian options: Loads of vegetarian options available.Dietary restrictions: So long as you say what your dietary needs are the staff are willing and able to help. They also have a clear app that tells you some more common allergens in the dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy to get in the side entrance but I haven't found any wheelchair friendly bathrooms, although I didn't ask so I may have missed them.

Lovely time here for a birthday lunch. Rebecca was extremely helpful and friendly and provided exceptional service. The food was great, it was very tasty, filling and quick. We had one problem with an incorrect item coming out but this was corrected very quickly. They also sang happy birthday which was a lovely added touch. Would definitely come back again.

I made the mistake of sitting in the Dog friendly area and all I could hear is woofing and barking.Admittedly it was advertised that it’s the Dog friendly section so next time I will sit the other side of the pub.The food was nice and delivered quickly, it’s really easy to order on the app.It’s probably the stalwart of pubs in West Didsbury so I would recommend this place.
I’d pay £6.35 for a pint at a nice bar but not here for sure?

Outstanding! We came here for an after work meal as our house is being decorated. After being warmly greeted by Rebecca, we were delighted with our food (also recommended by Rebecca), cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! We wish all establishments were this professional, friendly and highly in quality. Needless to say, we'll be back!

I used to love this pub. Great building and massive, but last night I visited and I was shocked. I bought a pint of coke and it was £4.8! For a pint of coke ?I wanted to double check that there wasn’t alcohol in it, but no, he just gave me a pint of coke. Pricey!
