Booked a table on line with a confirmation e-mail. Turned up and the restaurant was closed! Completely wasted trip!

I agree with the last review. Absolutely shouldn't have taken money for Christmas gift vouchers. I believe the restaurant went up for sale shortly after so not looking hopeful for spending them.

This restaurant took hard earned money when purchasing a gift voucher from them for a Christmas gift without mentioning that the restaurant would be closing at the end of January. What a waste of money and now a useless present. Shame on you.

The best service but the worst meals i have ever had and the rudest i presume guy in charge I have ever encountered in a restaurant.

Big shout out to Ewan and staff for making my 50th birthday last night at short notice for 9.Perfect disabled access for my mum, and the 3 steaks that were ordered were all cooked to perfection. Not one complaint about the food! It was delicious ?Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room between tables to get to the toilet. Staff then provided a ramp to get in and out of the restaurant.

What a fantastic meal we had! We’ve been couple of days ago and once again Hearth didn’t disappoint. We’ve had couple of Rosts that were tasty, and nicely presented with a lovely gravy seasoned just to my liking. Combine that with a lovely bottle of wine, and fantastic service by a french maitre’d and his team, and that’s always a winner. We’ll be back most definitely. Thank you for having us.

Had to start with a classic: The Sunday Roast. With their offering winning awards from Michelin Bib Gourmand, The Good Food Guide and Eat Drink Sleep, @hearthoftheram seemed like a good place to start. So what did they have for Tiny Tums? First, I like that the children's menu offers a three course option showing soup of the day and crudités as starters. Mains offer a nice range catering for fussy eaters and exploring taste buds. Almost always with a vegetable (albeit often peas-but who can blame them for offering a popular choice?) Deserts offering a fair 3 choices. In terms of veggie eating we only have one main so that could be improved upon. We opted for the Sunday Roast with chicken which the waitress very helpfully asked if we would want with our starters. It was huge but our 1 year old tucked into the carrots, parsnips, broccoli, Roast potatoes no problem. The chicken and Yorkshire pudding were last to go but she absolutely loved it. I like to think she was saving the best to last. Another point to note is the changing room. Brilliantly, it's unisex so Dada could deal with the poonami explosion while I tucked into dessert! Great atmosphere, very considerate staff, menu and facilities. For more reviews like this follow me on insta @kids_food_critic

Ordered the beef on the Sunday roast and couldn't have been more disappointed, the quality of the joint was cheap, every mouthful had gristle, it was overcooked and unpleasant. No excuse for poor quality food in a restaurant that charges an above average price. Not a good experience.

Fantastic eatery we'll set out warm and clean and good food and service.

We attended last night for a special Evening. The menu online, doesn't match the menu you are given and personally, I think the non-meat options are very lazy! Like the Chef has said "just give the veggies bread and a cauliflower!" The bread selection to start, is weird, that's the best word to describe it! A bread selection with a spoonful of hummus and oil, to give that much bread needs more sides, it doesn't make sense. The chips were fantastic! They were the saving grace! The beer battered haddock was okay, but quite greasy. However, the service here is awful! - The host/maitre d is immediately quite unwelcoming and cold, like we were sort of a nuisance for being there. Food came out quick enough, but it was getting the plates to be taken away that took a very long time! The conservatory is awful in the rain, it sounds like the World is coming to an end. We got the bill at 7.50pm, and we were waiting for the card machine until 8.10pm before eventually, I had to shout a waitress, which I hate doing! This wasn't due to a busy Evening, our actual waitress had made eye contact with us loads, but just chosen not to visit us! A special Evening was quite flat due to the entire experience. There are restaurants in Ramsbottom that Hearth often is said to be better than, I disagree, they need to look at what the Eagle and Child are doing and learn from it.

Great food here can be a bit slow at times but I think that may be because everything tastes so fresh.

Well we booked a table online for 7-15pm my husband is having cancer treatment and it was our first night out in a few months just to eat a nice meal rather than cooking something at home for a treat as he was feeling quite well… we arrived and the young girl couldn’t find the booking, I showed her on my phone she said it’s ok we have a table anyway so showed to a table in the conservatory which was fine! We ordered a couple of non alcoholic drinks and had to call someone over to order our meals, my husband ordered the lamb shank and I ordered the fish, we waited and half an hour passed to then be told by the manager that they had no lamb shanks left! Another table came in after us and we then saw lamb shanks being brought out! We asked about this and the manager said something or other, but couldn’t offer a full explanation! My husband ordered the fish! We waited… and another half an hour passed and he assured us it was on its way! He offered us a drink on the house! Eventually the meals arrived along with the table next to us who had been waiting over an hour and half! The food was passable at best, when we got the bill they had put down the lamb shank which my husband hadn’t had, I questioned them and they took it off and charged for the fish! I explained to the manager our situation and told him what should have been a really relaxing first evening out turned into a stressful event! We definitely weren’t the only couple/ family being let down this evening in the restaurant! We will never be going again! Such a disappointment!
