I stayed here for two nights. It actually has physical keys rather than cards, which is a nice trip back into olden times.

Very clean budget hotel, close to the M6. I am rating this 2 stars due to the shockingly throttled wifi of 1Mbps download, and 500kbps upload, by Virgin Media / Wifi. In 2024 there is no need for that level of early 2000s ADSL speed. Then the company suggest I upgrade to a faster service for an additional cost! Very few guests in the hotel, hence no need to throttle to that level of literally 2001 ADSL speeds! Ruined the whole experience, of what is a nice budget hotel. The wifi is so shocking now reduced my rating to 1 star! Took 6 hours to download a monthly Windows patch update!

Had a great warm welcome from friendly staff. Easy check in no waiting. Room was as expected not as modern as some Premier inns. But overall still warm and comfy. Restaurant was good for evening meal and breakfast.

We go to lots of Premier Inns and had the warmest, friendliest welcome here! Yes the hotel is older than lots in the chain, but the rooms are bigger than average. We had a family room and it meant there was more space between the beds, it didn’t feel so crammed in. The bathroom is small but nice. Had a tasty dinner in the pub next door too.

Literally the best thing that has happened for almost 11 Weeks after meeting Abbey from the front desk to sleeping in the comfiest place I've been in weeks.I was made homeless almost 11 Weeks ago only for the council to start helping now which they have admitted a duty of care over me, the most friendliest front of house member greeted me Abbey..I had a relaxing bath and had a few loose ends to tie up, only to open my door and a brown paper bag drop from the handle full of treats and a note from Abbey, I've never been so grateful in my entire life for such a small gesture to have such a massive impact.Thank you Abbey and thank you Premier Inn x

Convenient location for where we needed to be. Quite old fashioned but clean and tidy. Friendly staff and comfy bed. Nice view.I wouldn't bother with the breakfast at the Hungry Horse next door as it was absolutely disgusting and not up to the standard of the usual Prem breakfast.

I arrived late but have had a really warm welcome from Dave who has been kind and friendly, couldn't be more helpful and was really gracious about the late check in - such a great relief after a long journey. He was also mindful I'm a lone travelling female and explained how Premier Inn staff aim to help keep us safe - something I didn't know before but think is really cool. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, location is perfect, easy to find and a bit away from the motorway noise and halfway to my destination. Great choice to be here.

I really don’t understand all the 5 star reviews!! This hotel is in desperate need of a refresh and costs the same as newly refurbished Premier Inns and factually it’s just not on par with these. The staff are friendly and also share the same opinion that the hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. The breakfast is just as old fashioned as the hotel with hot water and sachet coffee, and Latte’s are point blank refused which across the country at Premier Inns this is not the case. There’s no consistency, and this premier inn stay and it’s breakfast are both just appalling for those reasons only. With a refresh, the staff and the location would make this hotel a firm favourite but until then I won’t be returning as this medieval premier inn is just non satisfactory especially for the high cost!!

Arrived here sopping wet from a failed camping incident feeling sorry for ourselves. As soon as we walked in Dave put us in a wonderful mood. He was so welcoming and calm even though we'd strolled in past midnight. Comfy beds, hot shower etc but it's the people that really make a homely hotel.

Dave was so welcoming!!! We arrived just before midnight but he was so helpful and friendly. Hotel was really clean. Breakfast was served quick and food was hot. Perfect pit stop for an overnight on our way to Liverpool. Thank you Dave
