Three of us went for an Indian meal here and in two words can describe the service as 'organised chaos'. We sat a while before having to shout someone over to order drinks and when we did they didn't come back, so we did it again with another waiter and the same again happened. Eventually the manager came and asked us had we ordered drinks we told him and then he sent a waitress over. When ordering the food we only wanted one naan bread but he kept saying "no, two" in the end we got away with the one and carried on with our order. When our meals arrived the waiter came up to my left hand side and leant across me to serve my friend who was sat opposite to my right at the other end of the table to give her her meal, then leant right across me to serve my other friend to the right of me with her meal. He had all the room available to walk round each one of us to serve us properly. It was quite clear to see that the staff here have had no training as they have no idea what to do. When we came to pay they said the Internet had gone down so it was either cash or bank transfer. To be fair the food was nice but I think if this place is to be a success it has to up its game and sort out the staff.

bad service as we were ignored by staff and no order was taken even though a family arrived 10 minutes after us and were served straight awayThe customer will always have the last say with reviews so staff should apologie and not argue and chase people in the carpark its unprofessionalStaff need to smile and get retrained or get another job that doesn't require any hospitality like working in a morgue. And to finish here's a quote from my late father. My unmatched perspicacity, coupled with my sheer indefatigability, combine to make me a feared opponent

Not been here for a while and sadly won't be rushing back. Father's Day lunch. Two of the meals were cold but burgers were okay when staff were told they did happily replace the chips and onion rings but burgers had been eaten by then. Sunday lunch was pretty mediocre although they were very good in catering for my 92 year old Dad with a smaller portion. We weren't in the conservatory but in the main dining area and decor and seating were pretty dire. Seating extremely old and tatty and the walls and ceiling were obviously very damp with a lot of brown stains and cracked paint. A little tlc would go a long way towards improving this

We went as a family to have a meal at 'Ye Old Red Lion'. We have visited before several years ago and, unfortunately, I have to say this pub has gone way downhill since. But first, a couple of nods to the positives.... Actually there's only really one - it's relatively cheap by today's standards. One course for £12.95, two courses for £15.95. So that's not too bad. But beyond that, the Red Lion is a tired, drab pub with a food offer that is no way near good enough to bail it out. The white walls have yellowed to beige, the damp has peeled the paint and plaster, and old water damage has left ominous dark rings across the ceiling. The bathroom is missing tiles. The floor is scuffed. The posters are sun-faded. The list goes on and makes for a really surreal and miserable vibe. The food came in good time, but was pretty low quality. My frozen onion rings and pre-cut chips were stone cold; the waitress did replace them when informed without much fuss, but without much apology either. When the table next to us asked for vinegar, the waitress simply came and took ours in silence, without asking. Our drinks order came twice for some reason, too. We didn't order two of everything, but two separate staff brought two separate rounds over - so perhaps the staff communication is a bit light too. The burger itself was of a decent size, and not unappetising, but nothing too special. I don't know what I was expecting, but even the meal looked a bit sad.... Maybe some side salad or a garnish could have people perked it up. I've uploaded a picture so you can decide for yourself.... It really feels like the Red Lion has just given up. A decent pub back in the day where all the love of running a pub has vanished. Maybe it'll improve again in years to come.
