2-4 Church St, Westhoughton, BoltonI drove past on Mother’s Day evening and saw it was packed, so I decided to give it a try last night. I was surprised to see they were still very busy on a weekday evening.
The food was beautiful—piping hot, very fresh, and tasty—and the service was lovely too. Compared to some of the big-name Italian restaurants in the Bolton area, I think this one is much better ?

The China Room
9 Pavilion Gardens, Westhoughton, BoltonFirst chinese in 8 years as intolerant to gluten. Staff very knowledgeable on what I could have. Most of the menu can be adapted. Food tasted fresh and was utterly scrummy! Will be back

Sunday Roast seemed a popular choice looked and smelt good although we did not eat
Unfortunately you are unable to eat outdoors and Wet and Muddy dogs are not allowed inside.

46-48 Market St, Westhoughton, BoltonStopped in for lunch at Provenance Food Hall and went for the pasta special — absolutely worth it. Fresh, flavourful, and cooked perfectly, with a portion size that hits the sweet spot. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and it’s a great spot to take a break in the middle of the day. Really enjoyed it and would happily come back for another lunch.

60 St John's Rd, Lostock, BoltonMy first time visit here as I'm not a local. The landlady was very welcoming and friendly. She put on a great buffet for our presentation. There's a brilliant outdoor seating area and given the sun was shining we look full advantage. A good pint of John Smith's and reasonably priced. A great traditional pub.

The White Horse
259 Bolton Rd, Westhoughton, BoltonWas a private party the food was amazing and the drinks were flowing, a cosy little pub for a function if you don't want a big room with no real atmosphere the cosy homely feel adds to the charm of this place.Has a lovely outside area too with seating for rain or shine.Parking: To the right of the pub and you will always find a space more than 20 places.

Taste Of Raj
113 St George's Ave, Westhoughton, BoltonI recently ordered from Taste of Raj and honestly, I couldn’t fault a single thing. From start to finish, the experience was spot on.
First of all, the delivery was incredibly quick — my food arrived in just 25 minutes, which was impressive, especially considering it was a full meal. Everything was hot, fresh, and packaged really well.
I ordered a large portion of chips and was genuinely surprised when I opened the bag — it was absolutely overflowing! You definitely get your money’s worth. The chips were perfectly cooked too: golden, fluffy on the inside, and still crisp on the outside.
For my main, I chose the lamb rogan josh, and it was cooked to perfection. The lamb was tender and full of flavour, and the sauce was rich, beautifully spiced, and clearly made with care. It had that perfect balance of warmth and depth without being overpowering.
The real standout for me though was the egg rice. I can honestly say it’s the best egg rice I’ve had. It was light, fluffy, and full of flavour — not greasy at all, just perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly right.
To top it off, they even included complimentary poppadoms, which was a really nice surprise and added that extra touch of customer care.
Overall, Taste of Raj delivered quality, flavour, generous portions, and fast service. I’ll definitely be ordering again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-quality takeaway.

The Royal Oak

Went in with my partner and I was a bit apprehensive because I have dietary requirements but they were more than happy to help. Will for sure be returning, thank you so much especially to the chef. The gammon is sublime.

Rose & Crown pub
222 Bolton Rd, Westhoughton, BoltonTravelled down for a two day trip, popped inside to watch a football match and everyone was genuinely so welcoming despite everyone here already knowing eachother, great place for my younger sister aswel who's 12 as they have a play ground out the back which is also fenced off. The lady that works here, Jay, was genuinely fantastic and so nice with her service aswel, very much a great experience visiting for the first time :) .

Asked for delivery with some weird timings and they delivered spectacularly, absolutely perfect, the staff loved it considering the order was over 125 pizzas and all delivered hot and delicious. “AMAZING”thank you.
