“We visited the Red Robin as away Portsmouth fans before a match and were made to feel very welcome. We had food and the carvery along with the buttermilk chicken burger was perfect. Service was great despite it being very busy with Portsmouth fans in the main, as they had enough staff on. They also had drinks only and food only tills which worked. The doorstaff were also great as well which you cannot always say at some places unfortunately. It’s also very close to the DW Stadium. Well done!”

“Traditional village pub in very quiet canal side location. Beer garden on canal bank and a decent sized car park. Pleasant walks and cycle paths along the canal. Friendly welcoming staff. Meal service can be a bit slow when busy.”

“Our family eats here quite regularly as a little treat. The staff are nice and polite, that’s always a positive. The majority of the time the food is great. Can be a bit hit and miss sometimes but that’s probably my own fault for trying to be healthy and not order a burger.Deserts are always bob on though and the prices are low.Highly recommend any burger and desert overall.”

“Typical Spoons tidy, good value with a nod to Eric Blair in the town that he made famous. Wigan is a special place, great people. ”
