Nice place. Odd really. I had it down as a blokey real ale place. You know 50 something dudes shouting at bar. Actually it's not. Yes it has real ale, yes it has 50 something guys but its very pleasant. So safe for a quiet drink. Bring your paper and relax without the born again noisy blokes roaring ar thr bar

Had a couple of pints and a pork pie after work on a Friday, top quality and fantastic value, I'll definitely be back.The staff and regulars are friendly making you feel right at home, terrific selection of beers on offer, sad I didn't have enough time to sample more.Excellent choice of music, any place that plays Werewolves of London will always get a thumbs up from me ?Many thanks to all, keep up the good work!

Great little bar next to the bus station. Very good range of beers with plenty of room inside despite its size. Seating area outside as well.

Great little place, never seem to have any dark ales or stouts to offer this being the main drawback for me. One particular bar staff seems to be a little grumpy..shame really!

Found the tap n barrel while waiting for the bus what a delight great beers nice little tap room barman was super friendly and chatted about beers really good down to earth tap house
