Great breakfast, portions were a little bit smaller than expected but still great value for money. Love being able to take the dog in with me.

Great pub and bar staff.

A welcoming old fashioned town pub, good basic pub grub ( slightly pricey?). Service was friendly, and either cash or card payment accepted.

Had an amazing experience in this quiet wigan pub. I had a lovely conversation with Anna who was extremely helpful and had good banter. Definitely recommend if you pass through Wigan.

Good beer. Raven burger was good. But fish and chips disappointed - fish overcooked, chips soggy. Cheese and onion pie also not

We visited yesterday with friends, had a fab time, great staff……reasonably priced drinks and the food was fantastic. Great to chat with the chef and came out to check everything was ok with our food. We all really enjoyed the food !

Calls itself the "Wigan Pie Pub" but honestly, if you're in Wigan, and happen to be in the Raven, the very last thing you want to do is order a pie. Gross would be a compliment. Inedible is the only description I could give. I ordered meat and potato pie. Pastry is hard as concrete on the sides but floury sludge on the base. I'm not a pastry guy anyway truth be told, I'm all about the filling, but that's where it gets worse. Chunks of meat an inch long, might as well be rubber for the flavour and how long it takes to chew. I would rate the potato on the third piece but unfortunately there were only two pieces inside. Honestly, this makes a mockery of wigan being "pie eaters", nobody wants to eat pies like this, not even Wigan!

Good boozer with plenty of character. Multiple casks and keg beers (no craft beer). Barman was chatty and service was prompt. Beer was on form (cask). On the poor side was the food, steak and ale pie was good but the chips were virtually cold and ranged from thin to nanometer thin, they looked like the dregs of a potato chipping machine for £10.95 I was very disappointed.

Proper old school boozer, think im becoming predictable.

Came for our yearly visit to Wigan this weekend and we always head straight for the Raven as soon as we have dumped our cases. Ordered a drink and asked if they were still serving food which was a yes. Was given a dirty glass with my cider, asked for another one which was worse. Ordered food which took an age to come. Plates thrown at us, box which contained sauces etc had only HP plus 2 tomato ketchup sachets which had been opened. I tried to get a member of staff to ask for mayo / salad cream, lad who served us walked past our table with headphones on so couldn't hear my polite "excuse me". Fish was burnt and partner couldn't eat it, chicken goujon sandwich was 3 goujons in bun with bits of lettuce. Not what the menu suggested at all. Went to the bar for another drink, 3 young girls behind bar - one having her tea, the other standing not taking anyone on and the third running about serving people. So disappointed that this great pub has gone downhill. We won't be back. Just an awful experience.
