The food here is pretty good, not brilliant. The big rub is if you come as a group the wait for food is a BIG problem. On our visit we had to wait for 75 minutes until the food arrived and we laid a surcharge as we were a group. So in short: Reasonable food Unacceptable wait Premium pricing while you wait NOT GOOD. Get your act together!

Perfect cosy pub with log fire in September and great service and food. Excellent menu choice. Beautifully clean throughout.

My wife and I eventually got round to visiting this lovely looking pub. We went for Sunday lunch. It is very popular so booking is essential. It has a lovely beer garden and outside area for eating. The food was superb. My wife and I had the mushroom scotch egg as a starter. It my not sound amazing but trust me, it is. We followed this with a Sunday roast my wife had chicken and I had the pork. Both were excellent. The service was attentive, prompt and friendly. Considering how busy the pub was the service did not suffer at all. This is a perfect Summer or Winter pub. Great for local walks.

Hugely overpriced for quality AND quantity of food. Disappointed. Very pleasant staff. My food was barely warm and consisted of about 5 small pieces of pork tenderloin, stir fried noodles with a little veg. Went home and had a sandwich.

Great little pub in the middle of rural Hampshire. A varied gastro pub menu all cooked superbly. Great levels of friendly service. We sat outside on the patio, lovely setting on a summers eve. Definitely a place we will re-visit.

Everybody liked the food, the service was excellent, the only spoiler was no facility to change the toddlers nappies which was a pain and a little outdated

We had a long boozy Sunday Roast Lunch to celebrate 8 years together, thankfully it was good portion sizes to soak up the vino!! And what a totally delicious Roast Beef dinner!! No complaints whatsoever there, service was excellent, My only issue is that I intend to go back this summer....I hope they get parasols for the lovely garden soon! Almost baked!! ?

Not the largest of menus but excellent choice. All home made and delicious. Attentive staff and food was excellent when it was served.

On a pretty bleak March day how nice to walk into a couple of open fires and a friendly welcome. A sensibly sized menu awaits. We shared a delicious sticky pork belly then a seafood linguine and a kale, leek gnocchi for mains which also were very good. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Exciting news that a new venture in Broad Street will be happening in the summer.

First visit to this pub, chosen as a destination for a early family meal New Years Eve including an 18 month baby. Stunning interior, tbh we have experienced better food but it wasn’t bad. However to be told off by the landlord for putting the babies chips on a napkin as they cannot be stained not only caused embarrassment to us as it was not done tactfully more like a headmaster treating us all like kids! A china bowl was forced upon the baby, we were trying to ensure the baby had nothing in his reach to break, hence the chips on the napkin. It ruined the whole feeling of the meal, the embarrassment was clearly not just felt by us but also the waitress, I saw her face!! So we are told off for putting chips on a napkin, but we have to accept the pub dog ( we are dog lovers) Sitting under our table with its nose shoved in our groins begging for food, the menu states do not feed the dog. This has left me feeling that this establishment has double standards, a baby (customer) can’t stain your napkins with food but your dog can remove food from the babies hand without any control from yourselves. The dog has more rights than the customers. We spent £151 in your pub today, we left feeling like we should have been thankful you allowed us in!!! To put it in context we left no mess, no stained napkins, the baby was so well behaved as was the adults, if you value your napkins so much provide some paper ones as well as the ones you have out on show clearly are not meant to be used, god forbid if one ends up with lipstick on it! Happy New Year

This place is brilliant. Nice staff, good cooking, good value. Wine list a bit modest (no reasonable claret) and perhaps the menu might change a bit more frequently, but apart from that very good

Staff and food amazing. But trying to charge £14 to bring out a birthday cake ( was not even going to eat it ) is a joke.! Have checked with other nearby establishment who could not believe that I was expected to pay! Including the Ivy!

A lovely pub to catch up with friends. Delicious food in lovely surroundings. My burger was super tasty, thank you. The puds smelt delicious too, I’ll have one next time. The dogs were made welcome too. But I would have had a beer had I remembered how much a glass of soda water would be ?

Visited last night on a beautiful sunny warm evening, with the olive trees and tasselled parasols we could have been in France or Italy! The pub is beautifully decorated inside and out. The food was creative and well presented. I had a bruschetta to start which was delicious. A great selection of wines. We had the picpoul which was one of the best I have had. The service was friendly and efficient. All in all a lovely evening and I would love to return.
