Absolutely appalling service!!! We used to use this place weekly. Not anymore!!!Received a vile meal on delivery & when i called to complain, was told I had to take it back myself if i wanted a refund!!!!After demanding he came back to collect the food & give me a refund, which I'd paid £1.50 to be delivered. I awaited his arrival.........he didn't bother to turn up or call back!

Man, I've lived around the corner from this place for 2 years and had no idea it existed. Just got a takeaway and it's the best I've had for a very long time. The guy serving was very friendly too. I'll be coming back 100%

This is the best Chinese takeaway in the area by far. (and my favourite anywhere!) I have now had numerous meals from here, and every single one has been piping hot and absolutely delicious. Great food and reasonably priced. I have tried the other restaurants in the area that serve Chinese cuisine and they simply don't come close to the consistent quality of Alton Gourmet Oriental. Sometimes I collect and other times I have the food delivered, always hot prompt and tasty. I look forward to many many more magnificent meals.

Ordered from here this evening and have been left disappointed. We asked for no onions but this request was missed.Overall, we thought the food was greasy and disappointing. Maybe we were unlucky , maybe we ordered badly. But after this meal, (sadly) we won’t be back.

We popped in here, late last night as our usual Chinese takeaway was closed. Never have we eaten such a bland, dry tasteless Chinese in our whole life. I’d go as far as to say it was the worst I’ve ever had. Certainly won’t be going there ever again.
First time ordering from here and unfortunately not a great start, we ordered just under £30 worth of food and not bad for the amount we had (all portion sizes were VERY generous!)Egg fried rice was a bit bland, the satay chicken (starter) I had seemed to be slightly undercooked, photo attached. The salt and pepper chips were soggy and tasted like oven chips, do not recommend... Chow Mein and Seaweed however were a hit! The sauces (satay and sweet and sour) were nice. Sweet and Sour chicken balls very oily.We are yet to find a local Chinese takeaway that beats our original one we travel an hours round trip for!We won't be returning unfortunately as don't want to risk the chance of getting food poisoning after the lucky escape we had yesterday!

Would give 0 stars!Very rude staff, phoned up and asked what food I could eat as I have coeliac disease. (Says on the website to ring up if you have allergies)He said most of the dishes are gluten free. I asked about cross contamination, and he said I don’t know and hung up on me.Very unhelpful. Will not order from here in the future.

We always enjoy our takeaway and see it as a special treat. The beef with spring onion and the beef with cashew nuts are our favourite dishes.
