13-15 Normandy St, AltonWe were out celebrating a birthday and it happened to be 2-4-1 Steak Night. We were greeted politely by a member of staff who kindly bought water to our table. One of the servers caught my son’s name through table conversation and referred to him by name all night and making him smile and laugh. I thought this was a lovely touch to service. The food was exceptional, I had Sirloin (medium rare), mash and the truffle jus. My partner had the same but with chimchuri and potatoes gratis. My son had the children’s 3 course for £10. Steaks were melt in your mouth delicious and cooked perfectly in our opinion. The mash was lovely and creamy and the gratis… to die for. We loved every succulent bite and can’t wait to return again.

3, Oak Green, Parade, Four Marks, AltonJust want to give a round of applause to the colleagues/staff that worked on Monday the 17th of November. As it was a very busy day but the team kept smiling through the que of customers and were overall polite and welcoming. Would definitely recommend coming down to loaf!

5, Market Square, AltonThe team were very helpful and patient with us while we worked out how to use the app etc. They all seemed to enjoy working there too. The new decor gives the place a nice feel and the food was good too. Would definitely recommend the truffle dough balls!!

Campbell's Fish & Chips
64-66 Normandy St, AltonIt was fine but not the best fish and chips I've had. They use grease paper not newspaper in the boxes which made the fries stick to it and literally get welded and same with the fish. Also they vinegar the chips for you which is okay but they were pretty light on them. Condiments are 60p each which is kinda wild, so I'd say bring your own. Nice quick service though and the things I could unstick from the grease paper were nice.

were greeted warmly on arrival. We had a huge pot of tea and cheese and ham toasties which were delicious and served with a very fresh looking and tasting side salad and crisps.

42 High St, AltonI couldn't recommend this resturant enough. We came for my baby's first birthday with family that had travelled down from Scotland and they made us feel welcome from start to finish. They Interacted with my baby in the most lovely way, checking in with us to make sure everything was alright and the food was fabulous. Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful experience, fab food and lasting memories.

The Hen and Chicken Inn
Upper Froyle, AltonUnfortunately although this was a favourite of ours in recent months it has detoriated on the food front. Also the pub is usually quite empty nowadays which may be just a sign of the times I guess. The staff are lovely and the locals very friendly. I am aware that they have changed their chef recently which is a shame as he was very good. We will try the pizza next time (it did used to be lovely). Failing that sadly if we are eating we will be looking for another place to eat.

The Yorkshire pudding was generous in size, the pork well seasoned, and the vegetables fresh.
We also added cauliflower cheese and stuffing on the side.
Don’t forget to ask for condiments too, we love horseradish!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made me and my friends feel so welcome and taken care of. The service was absolutely unmatched — it’s so rare these days to find a place where everyone goes above and beyond to make your night special.
The food was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely, and the whole night just felt perfect. I can’t thank the team enough for making it such a wonderful celebration. Highly recommend!

Got a box of goodness with chicken, lamb and donner, all the salad chilli and garlic, pitta and a can of pop.
Under 20 quid and I couldn't finish it.
Chilli had good bite to it, but the garlic wasn't as garlicky as I (peronally) like.

Gosport Rd, Lower Farringdon, AltonMy boyfriend dragged me there for the bike shop. To my absolute amazement and surprise; there’s a burger grill area outside. It smelled absolute fabulous ! The sauce is homemade, so are the burger patties and the onion ! The best bbq ever. He’s getting a bike service next week, I’m coming back for the food ?

The Railway Arms
26 Anstey Rd, AltonA must visit pub in Alton! Conveniently right by the train station (hence the name!) and with some delightful railway related features out front and in the garden. Good selection of drinks and nibbles, warm fires and a decent games room with pool table and darts etc. I wish the patio heaters would stay on longer in winter before resetting and watch the train tracks out back when wet, they can be slippery!
Good times to be enjoyed by all at the Railway Arms ? ?

9-11 Market St, AltonWe ordered takeaway from Alton Gurkha for the 1st time today and we weren't disappointed.
The food is amazing and there's plenty of it, enough for lunch tomorrow! The naan bread was so fresh, the best we've tried. Lots of meat in the meals and cooked to perfection.

The Castle Of Comfort
Castle St, Medstead, AltonOur first impression of this pub was that it had a lovely country feel. And that is exactly what it is. Inside there was wooden beams and pictures of how the pub looked many years ago.
The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff
could not of been more accommodating.
We noticed the large garden with a huge cover to shade a large section. There was also a children’s play area with plenty of benches to really soak in the atmosphere.
We cannot thank Simon, Ellie and their team for their hospitality.
We will definitely be returning.

One off thing is the pricing on the breakfasts, such small differences in price versus what's on offer. Given Spoons is down the road, lowering the pricing of the smaller breakfast to stay marginally competitive might be worth a shout.
