“We visited this establishment while staying in the area for the weekend and came across it online. We arrived shortly after 8 PM and were very impressed with the food — the burgers and fries were excellent, genuinely comparable to the quality you’d expect from a place like Five Guys.
However, while the food was faultless, the atmosphere was somewhat affected by the demeanor of one particular member of staff. From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable sense of tension. Initially, we assumed this might have been due to it being late in the evening or perhaps personal circumstances, which is understandable. However, what stood out was how the younger staff members seemed to adjust their behaviour around this individual — their body language was noticeably awkward, and it felt like they were going out of their way to compensate for a lack of warmth or engagement from their colleague.
After reading similar feedback in other reviews, it became clear that this wasn’t an isolated observation. If this member of staff happens to be the owner or in a leadership role, it’s worth considering the impact such interactions have on both customers and staff morale. The younger team members were doing an excellent job at maintaining good customer service, but the atmosphere was undeniably affected.
This is genuinely unfortunate because the food is outstanding, and the venue has a lot of potential. However, customer service is an essential part of the overall experience. If interacting with customers isn’t a strength or preference, perhaps it would be beneficial to delegate that responsibility to team members who excel in that area.
We sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively. We would have loved to become repeat customers, but as it stands, the uncomfortable atmosphere would deter us from returning, which is a shame given how good the food is.”
