I often frequent Costa coffee shops - indeed they are my favourite I visited the Alton shop last Friday and quite frankly was appalled with the state of cleanliness of the shop - the counters - the floors - the worn out and torn chairs - the dirty wall pictures (you could even see the smears where someone had attempted to clean them) - I could go on Do not visit

What a soulless dump. Decor is non existent. Tables dirty and full of empty cups and plates. Seats stained and ripped.Atmosphere...non existent.Service fine, feel for the kids having to earn money working here.Honestly this is a dump. Drop in centres look better. Didn't even risk going to the toilet. Begrudged at eating my money sitting here feeling depressed.An utter disgrace. Do Costa care? Any standards? I'm not going back.

I tend to only come in on the way to work in the morning, which I am about to stop doing as the service in the morning is terrible!. It's not so much the staff they are clearly rushed off their feet trying to fulfil all the orders between two. This then impacts the quality and sometimes the quantity as in all fairness I buy a large drink yet can fit it in a small cup, NOT value for money! So, after spending £45 a week that will be coming to an end, I recommend you go somewhere else if you want a quality coffee without a 20 minute wait in the morning

I can never be sure when walking into this Costa if the service is going to be top tier or awful. Sometimes it's a painless experience, however other times I've had staff forget to make my drink, make the wrong drink (on two separate occasions) or have to wait a long time despite the fact I'm the only one in the queue. There's clearly some consistency issues at this store.

If the guy at the till looks about 17, leave. Unless you like telling him your drink order three times. That was hard work!
