The Cricketers Longparish (6)Car park busy and pretty small. Good pub atmosphere friendly endearing staff. Quick drinks order and delivery. Food took over 30 min to arrive. Potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding was good. Gravy good. Lamb good. Veg a bit uninspired as just boiled. Mint sauce tasted, like it had been opened for a while. No gluten free gravy or Yorkshire. Waited for parts of our drinks order, a steak knife (never came), mint sauce. They did accommodate a meat only meal which was a good 8. The bar was quite busy but it appeared a bit disorganised. At no point did we know how much the meal was going to cost us…and everything we asked for we had to ask again….Howzat!Food & drinks: Bland, boiled and very basic Veg.

We popped in during our New Year's Eve ramble ?‍♂️?‍♀️around Longparish to enjoy a delicious pint. ?Very friendly staff and excellent real ale. Three were 3 ales on tap, two of which rotate regularly. An original rotary phone is on the bar - and when a call comes in, it rings (and brings back memories of yesteryear)! ☎️There is a cosy bar area and many tables - of various sizes - for dining. ?A full menu is on offer plus specials, including locally sourced trout and game, though we didn't have any today - we will come back to savour them! ??Pizza in the garden starts in April, which we also intend to make visits for. ?

Oh, we had the best time! Guess who rocked up? Only Father Christmas on an ACTUAL sleigh! There was such a fantastic, lovely, festive (hate that word) happy vibe! I had pork and leek sausages with perfect mash, we had a bottle of vino, and we stayed for probably 4 hours. Great service, friendly staff, proper old country pub. It was GREAT! You absolutely must go.

We visited on a special 'steak night' and enjoyed 2 perfectly cooked tender rib eye steaks with crisp tasty chips, mushrooms and tomatoes and a bottle of good quality red wine all for £35! Great value and service in a lovely village pub.

Great food but initial service was poor. Left sitting at table for some time before order was taken and the overall service was inattentive. However something of an abboration as on previous visits service has been good.Parking: Ample

After a long ride with the motorcycles, stopped for services on A303. That’s when one of the guys told us to go to a pub nearby and have some food. Long story short, we got here to find out that they will only serve pizza at that time (around 5:30 pm). The fact that they do it on this garden oven is a nice touch to this lovely pub. The pizza is custom, you choose the ingredients from a list that could use a few more types of cheese, if I’m being honest ? All in one, the place was a great location for a break during our journey.

Went for a night out with partner, pub was quiet on Friday evening. Ordered a prawn cocktail, Two little gem leaves with a smattering of small prawns with a dollop of rose Marie sauce not the bloody Mary sauce proffered on the menu. Had the muntjac steak as main and it was so salty it burnt my tongue on the first bite. Disgusting. Returned it and offered a ribeye steak in exchange When that arrived requested rare was cold in the middle again returned and removed from the bill. Partners moule marianaire was passable. Not somewhere I will be returning to in any hurry. Not a great atmosphere or.welcome

Arrived by motorbike at an empty pub at 1300 and was told that the kitchen was too busy in a VERY surly way. Not recommended at all.

I’ve been wanting to try a meal at the Cricketers for a long time and I’m glad we did eventually. Especially as it might well be my local in the near future. It’s a charming looking building from the outside, in this attractive village and inside the rooms are equally attractive, with individual areas offering an intimate feel. I’m also happy to see that there is a bar area where folk can come in and have just a social drink without being forced to eat a 3 course meal. All the young staff were friendly, welcoming, professional and polite. It was a Sunday so we all chose the roast. My lamb was a good sized portion and cooked really well. The sweets were also very well presented and tasty. And despite living in these days of greed-flation the bill was very reasonable. So we will definitely be back to try from their evening meal menu which looks very interesting. Could anything be improved? Well one of our party is a vegan and there was only one main meal and no starters nor desserts that catered for her. Fair enough, as I can imagine that only a few years ago a village like Longparish would have thought veganism a lynching matter. But times are changing and if there is a vegan in a large party then if there is nothing that they can eat it might put the whole party off booking. But as a carnivore I’ll certainly be back.

I’ve been to the Cricketers Inn a few times in the last 5 years and it’s been fantastic. After today, I won’t be going again. It was busy and they had a big table in however they didn’t arrive until around 30 minutes after us. There was no mention of the big table when I booked the night before or when we arrived. Not a problem but it’s quite common to mention it to manage expectations. Having both worked in restaurants and pubs before, we completely understood the pressure this put on the front team and were happy to wait. 50 minutes after ordering, our Roast Beef Dinners arrived but they were terrible. I wish I had taken a photo but it turned my stomach. My friends beef was ok but mine was very rare and incredibly sinewy. The Yorkshire puddings hadn’t risen and were lumps of solid batter; when we bit in to them, they were frozen in the middle! The potatoes were cooked but far from being a crispy roast potato. There were a few items on the plate that were hot but the rest was ice cold. My friend went and had a quiet word with the waitress who offered to speak to the kitchen or replace the meal but unfortunately it was all so unappetising we just asked for them to be taken back. I think we made the right decision as the couple next to us told us that they felt sick after eating their meal as it was badly cooked. The waitress arranged for the Manager/Landlady (?) to remove the cost from the invoice which she did (although so noisily that we could hear the conversation from our table). We paid the £7.60 bill for our two pints of fizzy and as we were walking away, the Manager/Landlady called after us that she was sorry we didn’t enjoy our meal. Sometimes things go wrong, I understand that but I felt like the whole thing could have been dealt with so much better by whoever was in charge.

Stopped for lunch after a local walk. Nice pub however parking in limited and on street very difficult. Food was good and reasonable value ?

A traditional Pub in a Beautiful village . Dog and people friendly. The food is cooked freshly for every diner and you can tell . The staff are very friendly and helpful . I highly recommend the Cajun chicken burger, the beer garden with traditional Pizza oven is extremely popular too !
