We had a family dinner here on a Wednesday night and were surprised at how busy it was.However the service was good and the food was very good.We had a selection of mains and desserts between the 7 of us - every plate was cleared!Vegetarian options: Limited but very good according to my wife who was the only vegetarian in our party of 7.

First time visit to the lion for dinner hence will also be my last. Food is overrated as is their service. Rude arrogant staff when they are approached about their food. I’ve noticed they will answer back reviews with the same attitude not being able to take any negative feedback. They try to cover there tracks with all negativity by trying to have a tactful answer to any customer whom dare make criticism about there food/service. Our friend approached them about our meal to be met by arrogance.

Very nice food, an excellent Christmas set menu well executed. One of the best large group meals I have ever had.Service was good but unobtrusive, great for our family get together (12 covers).

Booked for parents' anniversary party and could not have asked for better. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food (hot buffet) was enjoyed by everyone. The pub is lovely and although in the countryside is within surprisingly easy reach of the A303. Thanks so much for all the effort you put into making it such a special day for them.

After an op and enforced isolation for over 3 weeks, a visit to The Lion (a treat from my family) was my first venture out. Boy was it good.I don't eat meat and I'm not really keen on meat loaf and the alternatives so the chef just cooked me veg, a Yorkshire and gravy and it was amazing.

Local venison steak, amazing ! Perfectly cooked vegetables . Duck Bon Bons to start with ,which had so much flavour. Great service as always. Really good atmosphere.
