This Pizza Express is situated in an old building with lots of internal characters and features.Welcoming staff with note going to the Italian waiter who was just lovely.Food was excellent.Parking: A bit tight spaces.

Went here yesterday for a nice meal out, it was very empty when we arrived so we were greeted and seated quickly. I noticed my knife was a little dirty so swapped it for another knife on the table. Service was fine, speedy, they were missing some food items which was a shame. Doughballs were lovely and hot, and the American pizza with pepperoni and ham was lovely, however I started to feel quite full and uncomfortable midway through the pizza so had to stop eating and get it in a to go box, which was fine. Left the restaurant still not feeling 100% but chalked it up to trapped wind. Roll on 4am, and I'm in the trenches, vomiting, diarrhoea, chills, the works. Still have nausea, chills and diarrhoea now, writing this review. Unfortunately I won't be returning, completely put off. Will still have pizza express, just not at this restaurant. Not worth the risk and I feel awful. Also it was quite uncomfortable to hear the manager discussing incorrect orders and how to store things etc super loudly while we were eating. Such a shame as have been here in the past and it was lovely. The 2 star rating is primarily with regards to the suspected food poisoning post visit.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, veggie options, vegan. We went on a Wednesday evening, it was busy but we had no difficulty to get a table. The place is being refurbished and also there are roadworks at the roundabout so it’s tricky to get there. Parking is way too small, you can park by the stadium which in the evening is not safe as there is no lightnings…! Also with the roadworks there is no safe path to use to access the restaurant. Starters are about £8, pizzas are around £15. A coke about £3.50. The food was beautiful, tasty and served hot. The restaurant was not really decorated for Christmas, just a Xmas tree. Shame. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. A special ‘grazie’ to the Italian waiter who is a pleasure and always goes a step further to make our time there a great experience!

Great pizza express restaurant. Service is very good and food as expected.Kids menu is great and really recommend the App which allows you to split bills, use freebies and pay without waiting.Kid-friendliness: Fun menu and good kids meals.

Starters weren't great. Main course was OK. My main concern was how dirty the place looked. Tables looked like they had the same cloth wiping them forever. Loads of smeared grime left on them. The men's toilets were a disgrace. There was one urinal full of urine with no 'Out of Order' sign put on it. The smell wasn't great either. There was what looked like urine down the wall by the hand dryer. Basically, this toilet hadn't been cleaned for a very long time. Value for money seemed rubbish but our waitress was very polite.
