My brother and I took our mum for a Mothers Day lunch and we were all very impressed. All of the staff were lovely, especially our waitress Ellie - she was very helpful. Nice atmosphere and décor, a lovely New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and the starters and mains were tasty (Sharing mushroom starter, breads and hummus, chicken Shoarma and king prawns). We will be back!

The Meldiz Turkish Restaurant

Great hospitality and food, we walked into a busy evening and were welcomed to a table and able to order with very little wait, and brought bread and dip (unfortunately not gluten free) while we waited for our food. Spices and Spirits

Went here for a 50th birthday celebrations last night and they just went above and beyond! The food was amazing and they were so helpful with making sure we could try the sauces first to judge the spice level.The dining experience was lovely and presented, the place was very clean and the staff were lovely!They even provided the birthday boy with a desert to which they lit a candle and sang happy birthday!Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and will defiantly be returning whether that's to eat in or take away.

Miller & Carter Basingstoke

James was lovely. Very warm and welcoming. Excellent service. Food was melt in your mouth great!! We had the house steak it was very juicy and succulent. I wasn't too keen on the lettuce wedge but that's my own preference. Very delighted with our evening and our service thank you. ?

Booked a table on a Tuesday night before a show at the Anvil. Great food, excellent service and the prices were reasonable for both the standard and quantity of the servings. Will definitely go again when down in Basingstoke

This is a great place to have an event or a large party. Proper family run venue with the wife running the kitchen and the husband running front of house with his daughter the food quality and decoration is unimaginable. The service is top notch. As a team they are always looking to help out every party member when assistance is needed. Good selection of drinks too. Lovely outside dining area with the option for outside catering as they have the facilities. Massive car park and a very quiet location close to the M3 just outside of Basingstoke. They really made me happy when I visited. Totally recommend this place.

I used Anu Caterers for my husbands 50th Birthday party for some amazing Indian food. The quality and taste are second to none and they are so lovely to deal with. They make some good suggestions and give you competitive quotes. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks for making our celebration even more enjoyable.

Bounty Inn

My son and I, on business, were staying in a rather soulless hotel and so had a search of the web to see what else might be around for a couple of beers and a bite to eat. We weren't looking for fine dining, just something nice and more convivial surroundings. So we booked a table and rocked up. On arrival, we were able to sit 'where we liked', so ordered a couple of pints of (what turned out to be very well-kept!) beer and perused the menu. The landlady asked if we 'had come for the quiz?' - we hadn't, but said we see if we were still there. The pub filled, every table taken (Tuesday eve!!) and so we decided to take part. The food was great! Simple (burgers, chicken, hotdogs, etc) but all with a twist and all REALLY tasty and plentiful. But the pub is a gem! A proper, old school local - but not one where you're made to feel like you've entered the slaughtered lamb on entry! - even the gents is outside! The locals were friendly, as were the landlord and landlady, so we ended up having a cracking evening. On a Tuesday, in the rain, in Basingstoke. Who'da thought it?! To cap it all off, my son and I won the quiz (we had some very lucky breaks in the questions!) so stuck half the winnings back behind the bar by buying a couple of large 12yo Dalmores. Now, a pub that has that on its top shelf has definitely got something going for it. May this pub flourish and prosper; a hidden gem.

Love this authentic Nepalese restaurant- delicious food, warm welcome, felt like being back in Nepal! Good range of choices, veg and meat. Looking forward to returning to this gem of a restaurant with family and friends!

Scooperb Basingstoke

Had the banoffee waffles and they were insane! Well priced too. The service was really good, felt like they were genuinely happy to hear how much you enjoyed the food. Amazing place.

Best roast I have had in Basingstoke and surrounding area for years.Food was fantastic, really couldn’t fault a single thing. The staff were amazing and for two courses and drinks I would have expected to pay more!Havent stopped recommending it to people since going and will definitely be returning.

Takeaway order vegan menu, the biryani was great, the curry with it was a little under seasoned but prefer that to over seasoned. Worked with the rice. Good portion too. Vegan tikka masala wouldn’t order again, prominent coconut flavour no depth. Excited to try some more vegan options in the restaurant. The food arrived quickly & hot to Chineham.

The Beach Arms Stonehouse

This is my fav stop when cycling Hampshires pristine country roads. Ordered the Iced latte, passionfruit soda, hot honey porker pizza, philly cheese fries side, home baked sticky toffee pudding & the crispy fried chicken carolina reaper, whitby scampi main, home baked brownie. The service was nothing shy of epic, always feel welcome like an old friend or family which really is nice. Charles & Reece were making sure the meal was perfect, and sharing fun stories about hot sauces when they brought out the new Carolina Reaper crispy chicken. Staff here are golden!

Pizza Express

Absolutely love this branch of Pizza Express - the old style building, the Basingstoke heritage brand Burberry decorations on the walls, the (usually) flawless service.However, my most recent visit on Tuesday February 13th 2024 was dampened by a rude manager shouting at her staff; audibly complaining about her staff to the chefs; and walking off before receiving our entire order, instead opting to shout across the restaurant and have us shout back to complete our request. She really could have done with taking it down a peg - the restaurant wasn't even at capacity, so all we could hear while trying to conversate and enjoy our dinners was this manager authoritatively barking orders at her waitresses.Despite this, we still very much enjoyed our food and the lovely service from the waitress(es).Vegetarian options: Plenty of options, with absolute flexibility to make any non-vegetarian option vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Pizza Express's gluten free options are second to none in the macro chain Italian restaurant market.

The Crown

Great pub ran by Ian and his friendly team. If you're looking for a traditional pub with Music, pool, darts decent beverages, nice garden and great pub grub then the Crown is definitely worth a visit.

The Chineham Arms, Basingstoke

Popped in for a catch-up with a mate, several Guinness, and a meal later, and all was well. Great food, great atmosphere (especially when you watch spurs and arsenal lose) and the beers were great.

The Lime Leaf

The food here is delicious! Eaten in and had a take away several times and the food never fails to disappoint - full of flavour and a large menu to choose from.The restaurant itself is very quirky and rustic, but I like it and the staff are all lovely.Cannot recommend highly enough!

The Barley Mow

If I could give it 4.5 I would. Food was lovely just a few minor issues with service being slow and one of the meals coming out wrong but they sorted it really quickly and they adjusted the bill without us even complaining. Our waitress was brilliant working in the dining area on her own.

Mayflower Chinese Restaurant

Came here on Saturday night with some friends after a long day out in London and they fitted us in - I found the service efficient and abrupt, not rude at all but a little abrupt anyway!Food was great - cooked to order rather than Sat keeping warm so there was the correct balance of ordering and waiting for it to arrive, not too fast and not too slow either. Not unreasonably priced for a sit down Chinese restaurant. All in all, very enjoyable.

Raj Of Black Dam

We’ve been coming to the Raj for a number of years. It recently changed management and updated its menu, and it’s been faultless since. We’ve eaten here as a couple all the way up to a group of 16. The food, waiting time and service is always spot on. Highly recommend the Raj, a wonderful place to eat and one of the best Indians in Basingstoke.

Food was delicious, and it is clear that the owner is super passionate about food and ingredients. Good level of service. Atmosphere warm and welcoming. Highly recommended. The only top tip is to double-check your booking. The booking system seems a little temperamental.

The Hoddington Arms

We were a party of 11 celebrating my husband's birthday today. The food was truly excellent - all our guests said so. The Hod really lives up to it's reputation as having the best Sunday lunch in and around Basingstoke. Everything was delicious today. The servers were really helpful, courteous and friendly. We weren't rushed at all, nor did we have to wait a long time between ordering and receiving our meals - timings were spot on! The staff gathered round to sing happy birthday to my husband, which was a lovely touch. A friend made a birthday cake which we were able to light and bring in after dessert and staff brought plates and forks for anyone who could manage a slice of cake on top of pud. NB: a previous review was rather negative about a 'cakeage charge' for bringing their own birthday cake. I asked about this and just wanted to set the record straight.....there is no extra charge if diners have had puddings and/or coffees. It only applies if you just have a main course, and then have your own cake instead of dessert - I find this entirely reasonable!

Oliver's

If you want fish and chips in Basingstoke, go to Oliver's. Lovely food, quick service even when busy, wife and daughter love the halloumi fries. Cod tastes nice, its got flavour, not bland like some chippys.

I've used this place for many years, over that time I've not had anything but amazing food, however, due to COVID the OG will no longer be returning, therefore, his family members are now working the kitchen and what a fantastic job they're doing... as the kitchen is now under new staff - PLEASE do make sure you pass on any feedback which they'll really appreciate!

Your standard Wagamamas.Much better to eat in then get take out.Dietary restrictions: Decent options for people with coeliac disease. Their policy is allergen food must be ordered by the manager. My food didn’t need to be. so mine was ordered long before my father’s which made getting lunch together rather awkward. Mine arrived so long before his that id finished before he even started. They insisted this was easier but i really felt it wasn’t. This was a few months ago so they may have changed their policy on how allergen/non allergen parties are catered to.

Zizzi - Basingstoke

Garlic bread is a must try- the standard comes with balsamic onions and it is uniquely delicious. The chicken wings are cooked in a skillet- resulting in a soft pulled meat rather than traditional crispy wing. Flavour is fantastic just not what was expected. Additionally, this branch gets quite busy in the evening so booking is recommended.

Had some trouble communicating that I had wanted a vegan pizza, turns out only the cheese was vegan, I had called them and they were happy to take it back and deliver a fresh vegan one, came extremely fast too, excellent service on their side.

We were there for Mother’s Day lunch.Though we had no table booked, we had no issues getting table on arrival. Felt very welcomed and looked after by the staff. The meal and atmosphere were very affordable and authentic to UK pub.Highly recommended and will go back when we are next that way.

Cafe in the Park - Beggarwood

Very sweet community cafe with very friendly and approachable staff. Prices are good and affordable and quality is fairly decent, especially like the coffee rewards stamp card. Lovely place for a little bite to eat or to grab a take away coffee when going on a walk. Could do with a few more indoor tables for busier periods and to make better use of the space. The Greyhound

Although we've been living in Overton since March 2019 yesterday was the first time we went to the Greyhound. We had dinner, and it was exquisite. Flavoursome English pea & sparragus creamy risotto with parmesan. I enjoyed and tasted all ingredients. My husband had fish & chips. He loved everything on the plate. So unusual for him. The beef dripping chips, the fish, tartare sauce with capers and peas with mint. Also, he loved the starter black pudding roll.On top of that, there was a very friendly atmosphere, with familiar faces. Fully recommend this place. Thanks for making Overton restaurants and pubs even more interesting that they're.

The Riverdene

Brilliant day at riverdene yesterday. We were able to watch the football and the rugby at the same time which was perfect!! Great atmosphere even if my team did lose! Staff were so welcoming as always.

Bao Diep Fish Bar

First time I've visited and did so on the back of a recommendation. Glad I did as the haddock and chips were the best I've had. Huge portion of haddock and chips which tasted lovely, and the price was definitely cheaper than other local establishments I used to use. This is now my new go to fish and chip shop!

Station Kebabs

Fantastic kebab van that's been at this location for many many years. Staff are always friendly and love having a chat to you.Have never had a bad experience there and the food has always been good. Some may say the prices are high, but for the quantity and quality, I'd say the pricing is bang on.There isn't any official parking at the site, the spaces nearby are for disabled or permit holders, but in practice you're able to park there and wait whilst they make your food without issue.Obviously busiest on Friday/Saturday evenings, so best to go before the pubs start kicking people out if you want to avoid a wait.Definitely be returning, hope they stay there for a long time!

Used to eat at this cafe regularly whilst working at Belvedere House and I can't recommend them enough!Brilliant service with some of the best wraps I have had, absolutely deserving of five stars.

What can I say we poped into try the sunday roast and we weren't disappointed.Great portion size, lovely quality food.Roast beef was outstanding and stuffing was out of this world.Finished off witn apple crumble and custard.Service was fantasticWe will definitely be going again.

Smilies kebabs are absolutely legendary in Basingstoke, this is definitely the best you can get. Smiley himself is a true gent and his staff embrace his style of cooking which you will know once you taste his menu. Caffè Nero

Great staff, always friendly and efficient. Reasonable selection of cakes and snacks, some comfortable easy chairs as well as usual table layout. Coffee is way better than Costa in my opinion. Happy to use this place regularly.
