The Meldiz Turkish Restaurant

For my first meal in Basingstoke I enjoyed a delicious, authentic Turkish dinner here. The lamb shank with mashed potatoes and rice was perfect, the lamb falling off the bone and really succulent. I also really enjoyed the baklava and glass of Turkish tea afterwards, the baklava really recommended! I was by myself but felt comfortable and was well looked after in this beautifully furnished restaurant where you can even see your food being cooked. I will absolutely return here when back in Basingstoke, thank-you! :)

The Olive House

One of the best restaurants in the area. Amazing food, great atmosphere and service. The Lahmacun starter is incredible, guvec a fantastic main and the baklava...wow.

Spices and Spirits

Spices and Spirits lives up to its reputation as one of the best curry houses in Basingstoke.

The curries are delicious, the cocktails are great and I was extremely happy to see that they had added another floor!

Highly recommend the chicken lollipop starter!

I would recommend booking as it gets busy.

Miller & Carter Basingstoke

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant, and it truly exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with a warm and friendly atmosphere that immediately made me feel comfortable. The interior was clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect balance between elegance and relaxation. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a special occasion or simply unwind with a great meal. ?????

Afrizi

Delicious and authentic Nigerian cuisine. One of the best meals I've had in a very long time.

I had the Gizzmodo with Jollof rice, which was absolutely delicious. Combining, I believe, tripe with kidneys and plantains in a delicious slightly spicy sauce. The rice was perfect - 10/10. The sauce reminded me of a stew I had with Fufu not so long ago.

My partner had stir fried rice with mutton stew. The mutton was tender and the sauce had a serious kick.

We also had a Zobo Margarita (hibiscus, ginger, tequila and lime) as well as a Chapman Spritz (Chapman - a refreshing fizzy drink from Nigeria with orange, citrus and bitters - and Aperol).

The staff were friendly and kind, offering us a dessert on the house at the end of our meal.
The interior is restaurant meets take away, so potentially not immediately inviting to sit down for a meal, but I would recommend doing so anyway!

They'll be celebrating their 4th birthday soon, so I wish them all the best. And that more people will find this small little gem on the cusp of the centre.

The Fur & Feathers

It was curry night and I had the venison curry which was delicious. We've been before when we had Sunday roast which was also very good. The Fur and Feathers is fast becoming a favourite.

The desserts were outstanding and beautifully presented.

Anu Caterers

Anu caterers were fantastic at our wedding, serving a delicious buffet of Indian Street food! They were happy to adjust flavours to our preferences, and we received compliments from so many of our guests for the food. Thank you!

Scooperb Basingstoke

Great experience at Scooperb in Basingstoke! The ice cream was incredibly creamy with lots of great flavours to choose from. The Exceptionally Royal Falooda was amazing, beautifully presented and full of delicious layers of flavour.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, making the visit even better. The shop has a fun atmosphere and is a great place to enjoy a dessert with friends or family.

Everything tasted fresh and high quality. Definitely a must-visit in Basingstoke if you’re craving something sweet! ?

Yamazaki Sushi Bar

Our waiter called Shandi was incredibly lovely and knowledgeable! She had amazing recommendations and was so kind.
The food was delicious! As a student I would love for the prices to be a bit more affordable but you did get a filling portion.
I highly recommend the tofu udon noodles, the tofu was perfect and crispy!
Great menu for fellow vegans and vegetarians too ??

Côte Basingstoke

We had such a lovely birthday meal at Côte Brasserie — the food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed yet special, and the staff went the extra mile to make the evening memorable. Everything from start to finish was perfect, and the little touches made it feel really personal. Highly recommend for any occasion!

The Jolly Farmer

Couple, lunch. Mains were tamarind duck and teriyaki steak. Both were good. The starters were however excellent. We shared prawn crackers, salt & pepper squid, and prawn toasts. All were very good indeed. We'll be back, and may well just get a broad selection of the excellent starters to share as a meal. They were that good.

The Queen Inn

Excellent pub, food quality is excellent and the service is always wonderful. Nice to see a proper pub serving British classics in a market saturated by bistro / gastro pubs. Highly recommend and worth a visit!

Bounty Inn

I popped in to try The Bounty’s first Sunday roast and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The beef was cooked beautifully, tender and full of flavour, and the plate came with a truly bountiful selection of vegetables. The cauliflower cheese was rich and delicious, and the gravy was so good you’d almost be tempted to drink it straight from the pot.
I’ve never been disappointed by the food here, so I’m really pleased the Sunday roast lived up to — and even exceeded — expectations. Looking forward to coming back at the end of the month!

Harvester Stag & Hounds Basingstoke

I had a wonderful experience thanks to Ashley. From the moment we walked in, she was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. She was quick to answer all our questions and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. It’s not often you find such great service these days! I really appreciated her positive attitude and the genuine care she put into making our visit enjoyable. I would definitely recommend asking for her if you ever get the chance!

Las Iguanas - Basingstoke

Took las iguanas up on their £17 all you can eat tapas, some of the dishes you get are worth actually cost £10 each so you easily get your money back. You get an hour and half and you can order 3 dishes each time between two people. My boyfriend and I were able to order all the dishes we wanted. You need to book ahead to get the offer.

Honestly the food was okay, the tapas are not as good as the mains at las iguanas but for that price point I don't mind. If I had paid full price for each dish I'd definitely feel scammed?. Usually the tapas is on the drinks menu so I think it's stuff that people order when they are drunk. It was tasty don't get me wrong but very one note the food, Taco Bell quality to be honest when I kinda expect more from las iguanas. Been to las iguanas many times the cocktails are really fun and the mains are ?But honestly really fun experience having unlimited options and trying new food! There were also lots of options of vegetarians on the menu so don't think you'd miss out if your veggie.

The staff were very lovely and attentive thank you both. Sorry we ordered so many times lmao.

Hot honey halloumi: 8/10 the best so yummy real halloumi
PÃO DE QUEIJO: 8/10 a must try like dough balls but so much better the garlic dip is delicious like Papa John's garlic dip
The loaded nachos: 7/10 very yummy nice guac can't go wrong with loaded nachos
Fried chicken: 7/10 again delicious excellently presented
PATATAS BRAVAS: 6/10 yummy try it
CALAMARES: 6/10 yummy as well good squid
ROASTED RED PEPPER SALAD: 6/10 decent salad. Was too full to appreciate tbh
The hot honey chicken wings: 5/10 nice chicken but wasn't giving that hot honey flavour
Chicken quesadilla: 4/10 eh presentation super disappointing
Pork quesadilla: 3/10 just tasted like unseasoned pork mince in a wrap with cheese. Just make this your self at home.
Overall 7/10 do it because it is fun and cheap!!

Amazing,honestly Amazing. The Barley Mow

So this is a fairly loud pub even in the dining area. We booked almost a month ago for the festive meal to celebrate Christmas with family while visiting from the States. When we arrived we were told that they don't serve the festive menu on Sundays. Yet the printed menu says that the festive meals served every day except Christmas, No mention on their website of not serving it on Sundays, wish we had called instead of booking online, maybe that would been mentioned.

That said the service was fantastic, The dining area is too tightly packed and a bit noisy and I was really looking forward to venison roast and ended up with a tiny portion of venison in my casserole. My sister reported that the Sunday roast chicken was dry.
I really think that the restaurant could have made a better effort at telling us there was not the festive menu available when we booked or on their website or printed material.
With the many choices of pubs, don't see any reason to return.

Came for Sunday roast, Food quality was outstanding, the chicken was moist and tasty.
Emma took fantastic care of us and all is good.

Spruce Goose Beefeater

We decided to give this a go after years of breakfasts at a rival outlet. This was £10.99 for unlimited dining. It was true to its ad. We were welcomed with a smile which is always a good start. The food was well cooked and never in short supply. You have a choice of the full English or the lighter cereal, yoghurt, fruit, pancakes etc. You have no limit (other than your appetite) and also a good range of hot drinks from the coffee machine. The food was lovely (my friend said the pancakes were iffy but the rest was delicious). All-in-all a superb experience for a great price. Will definitely be returning to this at some point soon.

Cromwell Tandoori

Went here as a group of five for dinner. We were welcomed by the very friendly staff. We didn't book a table beforehand, but this wasn't a problem. Service was quick and efficient. All our curries were excellent. The bill was very reasonable, too.
We can definitely recommend this restaurant.

What really stood out was the service. The staff were so attentive, kind, and genuinely caring throughout our visit. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect.

Such a lovely experience from start to finish – we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Jim, Steve and the team are fantastic. Always excellent tasty food. Great gluten free menu. Homemade, fresh food. The burgers are the best I have had in years. Don't like to go anywhere else. Oh and super dog friendly too. Once you have been here you won't want to go anywhere else x

The Beach Arms Stonehouse

Had a lovely visit to the pub for a carvery and couldn’t fault it. The food was fresh, well-cooked, and generously portioned and the Yorkshire puddings were spot on. Plenty of choice at the veg counter and everything was hot. Big shoutout to Ashleigh who looked after our table – friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Overall, a warm, welcoming atmosphere with great value for money. Will be back!

Excellent restaurant. I went with a group and everyone seemed to have enjoyed their food. I had the best vegetable green curry that I've had in the UK. The service was also exceptional

Looked closed from outside but a ding on ghe door invites you in.

A lovely day/evening had. Accommodation perfect for a night away. Food of a very high standard. If you stay over, include breakfast… it’s incredible value for just an extra £15.

I’ve never had a bad takeaway from here - excellent value and absolutely delicious fish & chips! The portions are generous for the price, and the fish is always cooked to perfection - light, crispy batter and lovely moist fish fillets. Highly recommend a side of mushy peas too. Oliver’s is a must when visiting Basingstoke! ?✨

Mayflower Chinese Restaurant

Came here on Saturday night with some friends after a long day out in London and they fitted us in - I found the service efficient and abrupt, not rude at all but a little abrupt anyway!Food was great - cooked to order rather than Sat keeping warm so there was the correct balance of ordering and waiting for it to arrive, not too fast and not too slow either. Not unreasonably priced for a sit down Chinese restaurant. All in all, very enjoyable.

Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Lots of great options available, best hot chocolate in town, and adding peanut butter is a great idea I had never thought of until now. I plan to try more of the menu in the near future too, as they can make shakes vegan.

Ordered over 15 pizzas and 20 sides for a large corporate lunch. Ordered before the restaurant opened very easily via the website and they took my order the minute they opened. Left my mobile number for the driver who did contact me when he was a few minutes away so I could meet him for the pickup. Very friendly service and courteous, and the pizzas and sides were piping hot on arrival. Tasted great! We'll definitely order again

McDonald's

I would just like to say how grateful I am to the manager at McDonalds town centre. A brand new phone was accidentally left in the restaurant by my soon to be ex -husband.
We assumed that would be the last of seeing that, until I received a phone call telling me it was in the safe hands of the manager and it would be kept safe until we could get it.
On going in to collect it I was told it had been fully charged and locked up in the safe overnight.

I visited The Oak to start a regular Vehicle Valeting service, to serve the community through summer 2026. The Roast dinner was outstanding beyond expectations, The service in the bar was brilliant and the atmosphere was amazing and it was lovely to speak to a few of the locals. The staff and management are brilliant, Thankyou Tony, Sam & Sarah.

Went today and had breakfast ? although it was very busy the place was clean and tidy the two ladies working were very pleasant and polite and friendly . It was good food at a reasonable price would recommend it to anyone

Willows Coffee House

Willows is now my go-to coffee shop in Basingstoke, their Caramel Latte is one of the best in my opinion! Rich coffee taste with perfect amount of Carmel and velvet textured milk… It hits different to anything else and the little personal touches on their takeaway sleeves are such a nice touch!

Poppins Restaurant & Cafe - Basingstoke

Even though I went 1 hour before closing today, it was nice. Didn't get judged and pleasant staff. Thank you to the Muslim brother who was kind to my toddler when serving us. Being a mum can be very isolating from community but getting a chance to be outdoors and go out with my toddler was an achievement and I am going to keep trying. Small acts of kindness gets us through the day. Quiet but relaxing atmosphere too. ? good food portion and worth it. ?

I had already eaten lunch, but when I saw the curry my partner ordered, I couldn’t resist—I ended up eating half of it! It was absolutely divine, the best-seasoned curry I’ve ever tasted. The chef was an incredible person: smiling, passionate, and genuinely welcoming. He told us he’d cook anything we wanted, not just what’s on the menu—which is such a rare and generous gesture. His positive energy made the whole experience unforgettable. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Fantastic little boozer hidden in an alleyway on the high street of Basingstoke, great beer selection and friendly, enthusiastic staff. Sadly even with just a few groups of people and nothing to absorb the noise my friend and I had to shout in each others ear to hear each other, eventually we had to leave because we were giving eachother headaches. Another pub had 10x the people and live music and it wasn't as loud! Put some carpet down and this is easily the best place in Basingstoke.

Cafe in the Park - Beggarwood

We had a stop there with our coach on our way to Bombay Sapphire. Very friendly people. Nice food at an affordable price. We were glad to support the local community.

Chi Street Food

Had a wonderful dining experience at Chi yesterday. The ambience was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The waiting time was very reasonable. Every dish was delicious, with well-balanced flavours throughout. I would highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

Chineham Indian Cuisine

I ordered a chicken tikka masala at vindaloo hot and the curry was out of this world. My partner ordered standard chicken tikka masala. We both agree that last night was genuinely the best curry we have both ever had. We have eaten here a few times now and the food is always stunning, however last night it was perfect.
The naan bread is also just WOW. ?

- some extra mint source to have with our chicken chat and puree would have been nice though as they was a little dry. We did order an additional tub of mint source for this reason, but it still wasn’t enough for us both

Lovely friendly pub, great offers on cocktails 2for1 between 5&8 everyday. Lovely seating area, outside TV for sports. Family friendly & also dog friendly

The Riverdene

We went here for the opening day, had a great time as a family of four.
There’s lots of space for the kids to enjoy with an outdoor play park. Aswell as indoor games such as pool. There’s looks to be lots of events planned including karaoke nights ect. We joined the Facebook group so we can keep updated.
There’s picnic bench’s in the beer garden, to enjoy a drink in the sunshine. And ample seating inside of the weather isn’t as warm.
Very welcoming staff behind the bar with lots of drink options. They are also really reasonable priced drinks.
We spent most of the day there, enjoying a willls meals in the evening which can be ordered to eat in.
We will 100% be will be returning regularly.
Worth mentioning, The newly refreshed décor looks brilliant; modern, welcoming, and really adds to the atmosphere. Great job by all involved.

The Royal Oak

Stunning celebration meal. Thankyou so much to the two lovely ladies that gave us 5 star service and also cooked us the most delicious Nepalese food. We enjoyed the momo so much that there was not a chance for me to take a picture. Everything was fantastic and locals were friendly. We can't wait to come back!

Station Kebabs

I got hooked up on the cheese burger. I cannot stop eating it. It is so damn tasty. Definitely going to recommend anyone looking to have a absolutely delicious Cheese burger. I had the 1/2 pounder which is two patties and if you having the 1/4 pounder you will be missing big time.

Just wanted to say thank you for the working/networking lunch on the 15th Oct, it went down a storm and apparently the fruit cake was phenomenal ?. Portion sizing is generous with a good selection of foods on offer and all special dietary requirements were catered for.
Your customer service and flexible attitude when making bookings is brilliant and you are always a pleasure to work with as a team.

Youngs Fish Bar, Basingstoke (No Delivery Currently)

We bought fish and chips. The serive was good although it is cash only. The food was nice but the batter on the fish was slightly odd possibly from the batter no being thoroughly mixed before being us to batter the fish. The sauce portion tasted nice as were the chips

Simple menu, good food well cooked.
We enjoyed our visit and would recommend.
Several of us were surprised not to find roasts on the Sunday menu, but what there was being served all looked delicious!

Smiley's Kebab

Delicious kebabs, and the portion sizes are very generous- like Halil! Upon arriving we realised it was cash only. The absolute gent said just to pay it back when we can. Offered us some sample chicken fresh off the grill too! Highly recommend for the service alone- the good food is for sure a bonus.

Caffè Nero

Great staff, always friendly and efficient. Reasonable selection of cakes and snacks, some comfortable easy chairs as well as usual table layout. Coffee is way better than Costa in my opinion. Happy to use this place regularly.

My closest pub and I'm so glad. I feel comfortable coming into this pub on my own or just with my dog. Staff are always friendly and kind. Lovely vibe over Christmas too. Very welcoming and very dog friendly.

King's Pizza and Kebabs

The chicken tikka kebab is amazing!!! We’ve been ordering as a family every other week for over a year now. The consistency of quality and value for money is amazing.

Costa Coffee

Sadly the woman who served me had a bit of an attitude. As for the man who did my coffee, he was lovely and made my experience more enjoyable.

The woman who served me should not assume that everyone is going to pay by card, which she did and got the hump with me because I wanted to pay by cash.

Coffee is getting expensive at the moment but it's my treat on a Wednesday after working in the morning and ending off with a dog walk.

Well done to the barista man doing the coffee for me.

China Garden

This has become a regular place to get takeaway from as it is local, easy to park and pick up form and has Tesco next to it to pick up things like drinks etc.

The portions are generous, I overheard someone say they split their takeaway as its big enough for 2 but I prefer having leftovers the next day.

There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from making it nice to go back and not have the same thing every time. The price is also very reasonable

My order was cooked within 10 minutes so by the time I popped into Tesco and back out my order was done. It can get busy and there are seats available but sometimes they are all used meaning g you have to stand and wait but there is enough room to no feel like you are in the way when that happens.
