My favorite is the cod and chips. I always have this one and can recommend it. Second favorite is the classic beef burger. Nice environment and friendly staff.

Arrived after a long journey from Birmingham and had a lovely meal served by Gemma with a smile. My steak platter was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Thank you Gemma

Went for Christmas dinner on Christmas day had to wait in the rain for 15 minutes, before going in as previous sitting didn't leave on time, then waited 1 hour + for drinks and starter, after that service flowed better, staff were very apologetic and it was beyond there control, but it was very long to wait for a drink with 2 young children. Wouldn't go for Christmas day again.

Despite being short staffed and one side of the place being packed, we were provided table service, drinks and food were brought in a timely manner and the bar staff were really friendly towards us and our children. The building itself is a pretty looking thing and inside was cosy and inviting. The food was as you’d expect from a beefeater and was perfect for us just looking for a quick bite to eat as we were passing through the area.

Service was a struggle. Did not want our custom to start with as was told no tables and food would be at least 30 minutes. We asked about the vacant tables in the bar and was then told that we could use them. Food was ordered at the bar and came faster than 30 mins.Staff could do with smile training!

Party of 12 enjoyed Christmas dinner 2023. Staff were AMAZING. They worked relentlessly to ensure we had a wonderful Festive family feast. Despite not having a manager at the helm, they all stepped up to plate, rolled up their sleeves, soldiered on like a well oiled machine, making it so evident that excellent customer service was at the very heart of their intentions. It had inadvertently come to my attention that the previous party booking were being difficult and abusive, refusing to vacate the table, thus delaying our meal booking. The staff, especially Sam, Sacha and Amy, worked tirelessly and efficiently, with smiles and excellent service. They were full of apologies for our inconvenience (unnecessary; I'm not cooking, I'm not cleaning), and even though the pub was absolutely full to bursting, they were regularly and attentively communicating with us on progress before and between courses. This cannot have been easy!!! We felt valued and enjoyed a thoroughly delicious well prepared and presented 3 course meal. It should have been 4, but through no fault of their own AND already an hour past closing time, feeling well looked after, utterly satiated (compliments to the chef and team) and more than adequately compensated for our inconvenience, it was absolutely no skin off our noses to let these tireless hospitality warriors go home and spend what little of the day was left, with their loved ones.Merry Christmas Guys!! Long overdue review but I had a lovely lunch in the bar area with my mum. The food was great and Tony was most helpful and welcoming. We look forward to coming back next year.
We really set a challenge for the Hut by booking over 40 people for a 2 course Christmas lunch at the beginning of December- food was ok - came out hot ( if it should have been) and in good time - everyone got fed ! But the whole thing was made great by the staff who were cheerful, helpful and always smiling - many thanks to Kirstie, Sasha, Ana, Jane & James !

We visit this Beefeater every Christmas. Today we went for a work Christmas lunch as a group of 10! Tracy was so lovely and warm. She helped us pick what to order from the festive menu when we couldn’t decide and was so helpful and friendly. She was super attentive ensuring we all had filled drinks and the food was perfect. I would highly recommend visiting.

When we arrived we were advised that there would be a 30 minute delay. The place looked full. Two young ladies were up and down the stairs - juggling drink orders and food order . The drinks were not delayed by 30 mins I'm pleased to say! It transpired there were only 2 waiting staff and one cook in the kitchen on duty. Beefeater you continued to fill the place, and take the money but you rely on the good will of extremley hard working dedicated staff. So thank you Tracey, Sasha and Jess. We enjoyed our food. Your welcoming smiles and service made it a good lunch. I would have filled these comments in the Beefeater survey but there was no option to comment. I guess they don't really want to know what the problems are. If you abuse your staff they will leave and get work with a company that will treat them better
