It was a burnt out shell. I'm looking forward to it being rebuilt ??

###Sadly this venue has been destroyed by fire. Great loss###Lovely lunch served outside in glorious weather overlooking the Solent and The Isle of Wight. The pub is on several levels with inside and outside eating. The ground floor level has lots of tables and access to the shore.

So sad to find out that just a few days after our visit with family members that there was a massive fire that had burnt the place down! ?

Amazing venue, and local treasure. Beautiful views, the best atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, great menu and food. The NYE parties are the highlight of our year, and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Can't wait for the rebuild and to come back for dinner, the view, the sunsets and the parties. Just wish it could be in time for my partner's 65th birthday next year, so we could have hired it out for the night! (Ps. Will always be grateful to the staff member and manager, for letting me have a ticket for NYE 22, when it was sold out, as I managed to arrange a last minute shift swap just so I could attend!) You have all the support of the local community.

I know it's dog friendly but no need to serve all the food in bowls. Burger was dry fish pie only contained a very small amount of fish but a lot of potato, asked for no cabbage with fish pie but came out with cabbage sent it back asked for double portion of peas but only got onesmall portion. None of us had dessert cos what we ordered they had run out of. Pretty poor overall. Had been a few times before but not again.

Great visit with two friends for lunch. I had the chickpea and sweet potato curry with chips instead of rice which was really good. My friends had fish and chips which they both enjoyed. The portions were generous and cooked well. Our server - young lad with beard - was very cheerful and helpful. Nice surprise to find there was 33% off the bill because it was Monday.

Appalling- We booked a table for 4 for breakfast on Sunday 4th Feruary 2024. On arrival we were shown to our table promptly. We selected our meals and drinks and returned to the bar to order and pay. We had to return to the bar after 15 minutes to find out where 1/2 of our order of drinks were, they had clearly been forgotten, this was sorted out promptly. Breakfasts arrived 2 of which were stone cold and one with a hair in it too. Quiet word with the service staff and both were replaced. Unfortunately none of the food eventually delivered was of a quality I would expect. Christie the on shift manager adjusted the bill and was very apologetic. Overall appalling food and we will not eat here again...good views though.

The meals were lovely and well presented. However, the service was very questionable. The sever we first had was lovely and helpful. The other one we had was less than helpful as it took ages to get the bill to us. It also took a very long time for them to get the food to us, I think it look about an hour to get the pudding to us.I also have an issue with dogs being allowed in places that serve food. I don't think it's very hygienic, and also I noticed that anyone who had children with them were also put out into a separate area as well, which I don't think is fair.Another thing was that there are food options that are vegan, but further down the menu at the bottom in very small writing, it says that it might not be good for people who have milk allergies like myself. This was as a birthday meal for myself, and all I can say is I was disappointed in the whole experience and will not be returning

We had a family birthday meal in the osbourne view today, 5 adults and 2 little ones. We were given a nice table looking out over the solent nestled with a number of other families around 13:00.Drinks and mains orders were taken quickly. Time ticks by and around an hour later the mains arrive, by which time we were all starving. The food was nice and quickly devoured and plates collected. The other families thin out and these are replaced by people with dogs which didn't appear to be advertised, so beware of this if you're taking little one in and not all dogs are well behaved. We're then looking forward to deserts and the menus arrive, we've all decided and await the server to return. Finally they arrive and our desert order is placed, and time ticks by until 40 minutes have ellasped for ice cream and cake to emerge, by this time everyone is looking to eat their desert, pay up and leave. The bill is requested and finally the card machine arrives and we can pay and leave. So all in all 2 and a half hours for main and desert, service was incredibly poor as one server was stretched very thin during the lunchtime rush. All in all a poor experience for a birthday meal so not returning any time soon.
