5 of us ordered beer battered fish and chips as we'd seen it on the online menu, when it arrived the fish looked odd (dark brown) so I mentioned it straight away to the waitress, she informed us that it was because it was gluten free breadcrumbs, I said but we didn't order gluten free, we wanted the beer battered cod we'd seen on the online menu...this we was told was not available....the fish was very disappointing, we decided because of the attitude that we would take off the already added to the bill tip, it was allowed but they weren't happy and as we left as didn't bother with desserts we were shouted at "Merry Christmas" in a sarcastic manner, we won't be going there again or recommending it

We visited on a Monday for the set lunch menu. A joy in all aspects. Menu excelllent value 2 courses £15. We had the sausages and chips and the game pie with plentiful veg. Staff friendly and welcoming. We shall return very soon. Proper traditional New Forest pub serving good wholesome food

Popped in for lunch over the summer and had a great lunch outdoors. Ham eggs and chips was excellent. Went back today for the early bird lunch and again had really good service, a lovely pint and great food.

Fantastic country pub on the corner of a crossroad (easy to find from any direction). Regular visits from the local wildlife. Lovely pub.Parking: Ample off road parking beside the pub.
