Had a roast dinner which took 40 to minutes arrive . Meat tasted pre packaged and sliced ....awful!! Roast spuds were frozen and cauliflower cheese came halfway through our meal and was so overcooked it was almost mash, there was also no cheese . Not offered any condiments, had to ask . The staff were friendly just not attentive enough. I don't know why it took so long to come as everything was pre cooked or frozen . It was our first time eating here and our last.

Attended the seahorse for mothers Day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a roast dinner the lamb was lovely, unfortunately it came out luke Warm & on a cold plate, the rest of the dinners off the main menu were hot, the potato's were not home made and not really cooked properly & still hard in the middle. My husband surf & turf that was £23 the steak was very grisly. The deserts were lovely & kids meals were decent.Gave the staff feedback, it won't stop us from visiting. We will just have something else off the menu.

Booked a Burns night meal to be told they had booked us in for normal meal at 20.30. Paid in advance got money back which was a plus. Hadn’t had anything to eat and celebrate Burns night each year. But this was a first for going out, never again thanks Seahorse for spoiling our night outParking: Didn’t need to park as we walkedWheelchair accessibility: Looked ok

Five of us were on our weekly tea and tiffin trip out to a local pub for lunch. We were seated in the bar although the restaurant was empty. Three of us ordered broccoli and Stilton pie with colcanon, one lady ordered spaghetti with meatballs. The pie was brought out with plain mash, no vegetables although the plate was half empty, the mash was also cold, we complained and was told they would let the chef know. The other dish of spaghetti was so dry and congealed the lady could only eat the meatballs. The only order which looked half decent was a bacon bagette. When we paid we were told they wouldn't charge us for our drinks, a cup of coffee each. 13.95 for a pie and cold mash. Not impressed, won't be going there again.

Waited over an hour for our food only for it to be awful.Chicken burger was dry, fish was gritty, chips were cold, everything was flavourless even the salsa tasted like tomato puree.Seemed like a decent enough place to have a drink but definately do not recommend going for food.Service was pretty bad as well, but pretty sure we had a new server so we don't hold the mistakes against them

I had a burger and chips. The burger was overcooked and dry, and the bun was not fresh. Another member of the group had to send their fish back as it was v small compared to the others, the chef came out and replaced the dish with a much fuller fish though which was good.Service was slow (even though not many were dining at the time) and the drinks were missed until we re asked once the food arrived (oh and cutlery only was put out after all dishes arrived too, so we were all waiting for the slowest dish to arrive before anyone could eat).Condiments turned up 5 minutes after the food was given even though we asked a few times (7 people and only 1 ketchup tub arrived..enough for 2 people tops, and we asked for more once it was clear that was all was coming). The kids burgers were plain..literally a piece of chicken and a bun, no cheese, no sauce , nothing.Wasn't a good start either with the waitress telling us "a few" dishes were off due to a busy day..then listed over half the menu (was pretty much, fish and chips ,burgers and tagliatelle left) as being not available which meant half our party had to get something else. For the price (more expensive than a good gastro pub in outer London) it was a let down visit to Gosport for sure for me.

Last night myself and 5 friends attended the Seahorse for their inaugural Burns Night event. We were seated in a big horseshoe arrangement with about 30 other people which I really loved as you felt a real sense of unity and could have a good chat with people you've never met before. The atmosphere was buzzing. When it was time to address the Haggis, out came a beautiful piper and speaker. The speaker was funny, animated and very engaging, as he cited Rabbie Burns. Then came the piper! Oh my, just beautiful. After he finished, we all demanded an encore as we just wanted to hear more! Both entertainers left me feeling very emotional and proud to be part of the ceremony. The starter, Cockaleeky soup, came out nice and hot and was super tasty. Not tradition I'm sure, but I would have loved a crusty roll and butter to go with it ? Next came the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties which were served in a non-traditional way but, in my opinion, looked far better. The ingredients could have just been dumped on the plate, side by side as usual, but instead looked so classy and elegant and I'm sure took a long time to prepare. The effort did not go unnoticed by us all. The dessert, Cranachan, was absolutely delicious and put a smile on everyone's faces as we ate! There was also plenty of it! Then came the wee dram, a small measure of whiskey. We were all asked individually how we would like it served; with ice, water or alone. I was very impressed with how attentive the service was for this element alone. Everyone seemed really happy and merry throughout the evening, banging the tables and clapping in time to the music, enjoying the food and the atmosphere. I was then surprised when the piper came out again at the end to play "Happy birthday" for a guest then continued to play more traditional Scottish music. A perfect end to a great night. I cannot praise the Seahorse and their new owners enough for a fantastic evening. It was spot-on and everything I hoped for for my first Burns Night experience. It is clear they put in a lot of hard work and thought to ensure everyone had a night to remember. Thank you Seahorse, I'm looking forward to coming back with 15 of my friend's for bottomless brunch for my birthday on 10th Feb!

Booking messed up by incompetent Staff, so can't comment on the food. Drinks are ok but overpriced. Not happy wasted evening, walked mile there and mile back home. quite happy not to go back.
