I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay, as always. The staff were really welcoming and attentive, the rooms since refurbishment are lovely especially the new bathrooms and the food was delicious. I’ll be back

Stayed here this weekend with family as were attending a wedding at a nearby venue. We had the pleasure of being the first people to stay in their newly renovated rooms and they didn't disappoint. Beautiful, spacious, immaculate family rooms with king and double. Very comfy and exceptionally clean. As we were the first to arrive they allowed us to sneak in and check in a bit earlier which was very helpful. Breakfast was included and there was a huge choice on offer as well as a 12pm check out which made for a very relaxing stay. We had a lot of noisy children with us and the staff were just lovely and most helpful. Would highly recommend

Had 7 rooms booked here for a family get together. Had family travelling hours from around the UK. I spoke to the hotel 2 days before our booking…no hint of any issue. They called us at 3pm on our arrival day ( we were only 5 miles away) to let us know that they had closed the hotel for renovation and we would have to find somewhere else to stay. 13 of us including 80 year olds and young kids were left to find somewhere else to stay at v short notice. Highfield Park Hotel came to our rescue. Would thoroughly recommend there over this property if they ever re-open!

Location in the centre of Hook, just off the M3 and a good location from which to explore this part of Hampshire. Within walkinking distance of convenience stores, railway station and restaurants. The White Hart Hotel (not to be confused with the Old White Hart public house a few hundred yards further along the road). The newly refurbished rooms to the rear are spacious and comfortable.Typically furnished to three star expectations but minimal wardrobe space for no more than two or three nights stay. Tea and coffee facilities are in the rooms but why is it common practice amongst so many hotels to provide large mugs but only two small cartons of milk per guest when at least 4 are required to make a white coffee! Lots of sweeteners but limited sugar! (TIP: Make a note to always ask for more at check-in.)A nice touch is the built-in usb charging ports with two power points either side of the bed. And a strong FREE O2 WiFi is available throughout. How nice to see menus and hotel information pack back in the guest room. A welcome return to pre-pandemic days.Car parking space is more than adequate and free to guests provided they record their vehicle registration number at reception desk.Although the restaurant offers a varied menu, at first appearance the choice seems wide, on closer inspection, although there is a reasonable selection of main dishes, the side dishes are very repetitive which led to some confusion during ordering because the options offered differed from what was on the menu. This aside, the rump steak was medium cooked to perfection but served on a bed of onions accompanied with onion rings was odd. Anyway. I enjoyed the steak and chips. My wife struggled with her wraps and cajun haloumi vegetarian selection. Small plates and too little space in which to prepare 'the wraps' - enjoyed but could have been served better. The main restaurant area is very small and we were pointed to a table for two inside the 'pub'. Yes, it is a 16th century inn but compared to the new accommodation block, this was a particularly disappointing dining experience.Service staff were warm and friendly and the whole experience could have been so much better with just a little more attention to detail. For 2 nights accommodation, no breakfasts and one night's dinner for two (main course only + glass of wine) - it was an expensive 3-star experience at almost £300, albeit market prices for the area.Note: I believe that reviews, to be of value to all, should always be a balance of positive and negative comments based on those experienced.I also appreciate that many in the hospitality industry, at this time, are undergoing challenging trading conditions and will correct any incorrect observation.

Amazing hotel. Really nice staff and great food. Will keep coming back as nice and local to where I need to be and easily accessed. Free parking available which is helpful, providing you put your reg into the console in the pub. Would recommend

Had a fantastic 3 night stay over a weekend. Its 16th century and a lot of the original buildings structure is still present. The staff were very friendly, helpful and approachable. The food is excellent value and very tasty. It has a massive beer garden which is dog friendly. The bathrooms are due a refurbishment which is the only reason I've scored the room as a 4. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Great place to stay, however I think it would be better if they had air conditioning in the rooms.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely quaint Lodge and pub, the lovely friendly team of Matt, Erin and the girls made us feel so welcome and were so helpful. Will definitely stay again and actually booked for 12th June. We'll worth the money with lots to do locally and the food in the pub was nice, hot and great value for money.

booked this place because it offered an extensive veggie and vegan menu but none was available because they had had no deliveries *for 2 weeks) and weren't allowed to buy avocados or any other veggie products from the local shops! we were given a discounted rate which was appreciatedThe web site states breakfast from 7am but we had to really press to get one at 7.30 as we had to leave at 8am.The shower didn't work and one of the bedside tables was held together with hazard tape

Good free parking, comfortable bed, good choice of tea & coffee. Bathroom toiletries very nice and super shower. Room was rather warm as the heating came on during the night and unfortunately the kitchen was shut the day of our stayNoteworthy details: Plenty of free parking

Great local village pub! A great selection of food and drinks to choose from at very reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly. Lots of seating available and they have a nice big beer garden in the sunshine, especially in the evenings! Will be interesting to see what happens when they shut for refurbishment..
