Ist class service from the word go. Food was enjoyed by all although my meal had rather too much yoghurt dressing for my personal taste. Perhaps serve it on the side??My friend needed a change of chair and this was cheerfully provided.I will recommend this place again and again.

This lovely little pub/restaurant is both welcoming and cozy. The food is excellent serving both traditional pub classics and amazing Greek food. Would definitely recommend.

Came here for a mother's day meal. Arrived on time at 3pm and seated straight away. It took 20 minutes and a bit of hanging around at the bar to get a waiter to come over and take the food and drink order for 5. There appeared to be plenty of staff working but we couldn't see them most of the time so I'm not sure what they were doing. The guy who eventually came seemed like a lovely chap but was one of those waiters who seems to think a pencil and paper is for wimps and tries to remember the whole order - always makes me nervous (with justification). Drinks turned up another 10 minutes later, and the jug of water that we requested for the whole table was barely big enough for 1 person. 2 of us had starters which were very tasty but then another long wait to get plates cleared away and get the mains. Eventually at about 4:15 the mains appeared - the 3 folks who didn't have starters were absolutely starving by this point. Unfortunately 2 of the 5 mains were wrong - one of our party was so hungry that he decided not to complain about it and risk another long delay, as did I when mine wasn't very hot. We all agreed the food was very good, but again it took an age to get the dirty plates taken away (you shouldn't have to stack them up at the edge of the table yourself) and get a pudding menu. Another lengthy delay before taking the pudding order meant we decided to cut our losses and leave rather than face another wait. The waiter seemed a bit surprised but was very apologetic when we pointed out the bad service, and gave the kind of "it's really busy today" excuse which isn't really good enough on Mothers day when everyone knows beforehand that it's going to be busy. Management either didn't get enough staff in, or didn't instil any kind of sense of urgency in them. We did notice several other tables around us appearing to have very long waits, and a few other cases of food being brought out to people who had ordered something else, so it wasn't just us having this experience. It's a shame because the food really is very good, but the organisation seems to be really poor and sitting there feeling irritated about crap service for 2 hours does not make for an enjoyable meal.

Went with spouse and had a lovely dinner at this beautifully decorated place. Staff was so polite and welcoming, can't define it in words, simply brilliant!Food was delicious too, hummus and pita was great to start with and was abundant quantity. Grilled hallumi was okay-ish, no bad though. Chips were crispy and hot, so I'd say they did well with that too.Main course: Thai Green Curry (veg) was amazing, it was really tasty and yet wasn't overloaded with oil so didn't hid my gut hard, so happy with that.We also had desserts: baklava and J&H homemade vanilla ice cream with walnuts. Both were good, I loved ice cream more though. Will be back again!!Vegetarian options: Multiple options for vegans & vegetarians.Parking: Lots of free parking

The Jekyll and Hyde is one of the best places to eat in Basingstoke, if not the best. Lovely atmosphere, and the food is always top notch. The pork ribs I had last Saturday were the best I've had in many many years. And a bonus is that our dog is also very welcome.

I gave this place a 2 star just for the nice customers and pub decor. Staff are unwelcoming, rude, no customer service skills. Guy behind the bar seemed like he didn’t want to be there or serve us, the girl working in restaurant did not want to answer a simple question that I asked her. The place was not even busy! We drank our drinks quickly and made an exit. We won’t be returning. Very uncomfortable experience.
We loved the Greek food - especially the starters (feta in filo with honey and sesame drizzle, and tempura prawns). Big portions. Excellent service. Fantastic flavours. Quiet mid week when we visited, but busy at weekends. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Oh dear. Went for my daughters birthday. She had a small Appeltiser which cost £5.60. The service was extremely slow even though the place was practically empty. My steak was dry. My Mums lamb was dry. I could go on but can't be bothered. Ps, extremely expensive place for what you get

Good pub food. The pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken skewer.
