We used to eat here regularly in the distant past but have only been back a couple of times since it changes ownership. We had a lovely meal each time we visited, the restaurant has more of an upbeat atmosphere these days and that works well. The only issue is that it is a long way from public transport.

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant on December 6th 2023. The staff were very friendly and the food excellent. I had the leak & cheese filo parcel which was delicious! Followed by the turkey, the meat was perfectly cooked, moist and good portion. It came with the best roast potatoes (not a hint of any veg in supermarket bags here!!) yummy stuffing, sausage and a delicious mix of veg including perfectly cooked sprouts. Plus an excellent gravy, no dribble of ju here but just the right amount! I chose the Xmas pudding which once again was the the right portion ( not a great lump!) I would certainly recommend this restaurant to family & friends and it’s dog friendly too! If there was one tiny weeny thing , one friend would have liked a chocolate or something with coffee! Huge compliments to your chef.

Have been meaning to write a review for this fantastic, local and independently run restaurant for ages! Sunday lunches Have eaten these on many occasions here. Well priced, excellent food and fantastic, friendly & attentive service. Always a choice of roast too! Christmas Day Eaten here with the family for the past two years. A truly fantastic, stress free experience each time. Full Christmas menu & a speciality, complimentary buffet-style cheese table to die for! Table is booked for one (your) sitting only, so no rushing along to get you out like most places. Wednesday night is Dining night Dine here every 5/6 weeks for the £25 4-course meal. Fantastic value for money and the food is always tasty and freshly cooked. 3 or 4 choices for each course. A thoroughly enjoyable night out with a partner or friends. Pre-Christmas Party Menu. The members of my 14 piece swing / big band enjoyed the pre-Christmas meal SO much last year, we’re going back again this year. Booked for 40 people maybe d-week in December. Full menu, several choices per course and reasonably priced with a full bar. Welcome, food & service is always excellent whether going for a snack, Sunday roast, evening dinner (Weds is brilliant), Christmas Party menu or the Full Christmas Day experience. Love the place ?

Disappointing food. Having eaten here last year and had a good meal we were looking forward to a repeat performance. Sadly the main courses were so bad we hardly ate any of it. We enjoyed the bread and oil (although the olives were hard and tasteless) and the goats cheese and beetroot stack was fine. We then had chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce which came out in a sort of brown gravy with dauphinoise potato which was overcooked and overfull of nutmeg. The chicken was dry and clearly not freshly cooked. The other main was a tomato and basil risotto. It came without the basil and the manger offered to get some basil but by then the tasteless nature had put us both off. Strangely the manager did come and talk to us and was very nice and said she would talk to the kitchen but there was no question of offering any discount or maybe a pudding to cheer us! We are sad to make this review and it is our first bad one ever but the evening was spoilt. We are still hungry and whilst the cost of the food was reasonable it was not cheap. We hope that this review will help to improve things.

I haven't been to the Nook', except to have a breakfast and a cup of coffee outside some years ago. I think I may have received this invitation to comment as I spent some time on the grass common, capturing the building in watercolour.

Wednesday 4 course meal for £25 was certainly good value. Really good portions and nicely cooked snd presented. Serving staff looked as if they liked working there.Seeing two large labradors was a bit of a surprise. We'll behaved but in a small restaurant ?

6 of my friends and I had a fantastic meal on the Wednesday Special 4 course menu for £25. None of us found fault with anything. Home made food spot on and delicious, good service, friendly staff. I highly recommend and will visit again!

As always, the food and service were fabulous. This is our go-to place for special occasions. We had the taster menu, and it didn't disappoint every option was lovely. Melon with feta, cranberries, and pine nuts was delicious. Baked salmon with vegetables, a delight, and the bread and butter pudding and cheese truly superb. Thank you team.

Lovely relaxing lunch on a hot day. Fabulous crab sandwiches coupled with a decent bottle of wine in the quiet Hampshire countryside. Will definitely be back.
