A regular coffee stop on our Wednesday group cycle ride from Farnham.Our last visit (April) and today, there was something different. Something good But we just couldn't say what!Definitely more welcoming (a large group of 10+) and more accommodating.We sat outside and the service was fabulous! The coffee and cakes were amazing!Only now I learn that it's under new management, and that certainly explains a lot!Already looking forward to our next visit!Highly recommended??☕.

I ordered a delicious breakfast box for Cinda’s 21st birthday breakfast in bed. It was Nikki’s opening day of her new cafe Number one The Square. She squeezed as much food as she could including a special bottle of Prosecco and a little glass! So kind and sweet of her.
Lucinda was delighted to have such a special treat.

I enjoy regularly going out for tea and coffee, and I always make an effort to support independent small businesses. I was with a friend grabbing a drink and light bite at L&S recently, I was quite surprised how much it came to since I was only getting a tea and toasted sandwich. I appreciate that given the cost of living crisis, prices are going up dramatically everywhere and this will be reflected in the cost of hospitality. However, when paying almost £10 for a small sandwich and a pot of tea for one, I do expect a certain standard of quality, as I would consider these "premium" prices. When my sandwich came, I was shocked at how thin it was. The bread was so insubstantial that once pressed during toasting, the entire sandwich had squashed to the size of a "wafer thin mint". The bread tasted like cheap supermarket bread and I left feeling hungry. It came with a tiny salad and no more than 5 crisps. The tea was fine, but came with an inadequate amount of milk (at least for me!). I noticed that the teacakes came with margarine, I thought they had been advertised as coming with butter and jam, and I would usually expect real butter to be used when eating out. On a more positive note, the service was friendly but I won't be going back. This isn't my first time visiting and it isn't the first time I've been disappointed. I feel I've given this establishment fair opportunity and have gone out of my way to try several of the offerings, but have never been impressed by the cakes and I don't personally like their coffee.
