Inaccurate opening times. Wrong on Tripadvisor, Google and out of date on their Facebook page. Failed to get in.

Friends of ours had been before, they thoroughly enjoyed it so recommended we try it when we all met there over the weekend just gone. We were seated on the first floor. Nice table for 4 in the window. Service started off impeccable, drinks flowed like water cascading down a mountain face. We'd been in there for a couple of hours, moods were high - we were engaging with other drinkers - having an all round fabulous time. Then came the kicker - whilst waiting for the little continental waiter to come back upstairs - we decided on our next drinks. When approached, the wife looked over to said waiter and said we'd like to order some more drinks please. To which the condescending continental (4ft tall) waiter barked - well you've had about 20 shots! And walked away explaining he'd be back in 2mins. Well Pedro, that is not the way to treat paying customers. Insulted by the unnecessary comments, we decided to leave paying our £258 bill and headed to the Kings Head. There is no excuse for being rude to paying customers, if there was an issue - there are ways in which to approach these and by your actions you've lost 4 customers. And the word of mouth from us would be, go to the Cellar - but don't enjoy yourself too much.

With a chessboard to die for, a great selection of wines and friendly knowledgeable staff. A great place for a romantic date or drinks with friends.

A real gem! We walked past The Cellar many times during our stay in Lymington but left it to the last day to properly check it out and we were not disappointed! You can pop in and buy a bottle (or two) or elect to buy a bottle and drink it in situ for a small corkage charge. We chose a relatively new red wine from Spain on the recommendation of the owner and it was delicious. We also had a mixed cheese and meat board which contained some of the most delicious cheeses I have had in a long time (try the Shepherds Purse blue cheese from Yorkshire...just divine!). Don't worry if you are not a wine fan as The Cellar has a large selection of gins and other spirits too! This is a place we will 100% return to when we are next in Lymington.

Just happened by, as we were walking through the town. A fantastic selection of scotch, with some excellent flavours worth tasting from behind the bar! The chap working there was friendly and extremely knowledgeable on the flavours of Islay!I left with a bottle of Port Askaig, but I was spoiled for choice.

The jewel in Lymingtons crown. The most excellent cocktails I have EVER tasted! Customer service and satisfaction are second to none.

Absolutely fantastic place for a glass of wine but not exclusively there is beer and an excellent range of cocktails available too. I simply couldn’t recommend this place enough, become somewhat of a local for me.

We visited yesterday, what a wonderful place to enjoy a night away. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Welcoming from the moment we went through the door.

My husband and I, along with our daughter and Dachshund, decided to visit here of an afternoon after reading great reviews on Tripadvisor. We sat at the window seat in the front and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service, the staff (one of them was Katie, and the other was a lovely French gentleman who made our cocktails), the atmosphere, and the drinks, were fantastic. The cocktails (an Old Fashioned and a Pina Colada) were delicious. Our baby and dog were given lots of attention. The shop was stocked with a large variety of wines you could purchase by the bottle. This is a must visit when you go to Lymington.

Amazing food, and amazing wine. We were given a thorough run through on the wines on the wine tasting menu as well as the cheeses, really good value too!

We visited during the day to view the wines but found they did wine tasting, Gin tasting and Rum tasting as well as cheese boards paired to suit the wines and meat boards, so we revisited in the evening. The man who ran it was fantastic and made the whole experience, not cheap, but well worth it. We also sampled some sherry, needless to say we left with that. Thank you a lovely evening

We went here yesterday afternoon to have a look at the different wines. We discovered they did a wine tasting option so we went for it. We decided we would leave it up to the gentleman serving us who to choose the wines. My friend had a local sparkling wine from Winchester a rosé blush and a couple of whites. I was given 2 full body reds and also had 2 whites, these were all on the recommendation and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely return in the future and try the cheese board and selection of meats. Thank you for your hospitality.
