Simply fantastic and well worth the 3 hour round trip for such a great Mothering Sunday Lunch. Staff are attentive, and friendly to just the right level. And the food, well amazing, simple as that!

I stayed in room 2. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The room was looking tatty. I think the least I can expect is a comfortable bed. Other rooms that were empty looked in better condition. It seems they let room 2 first and probably have done so since it opened. Hence that room was so worn out. The breakfast was good and the bar seemed popular with people eating in the evening. It is centrally located in Milford. I don't think the room I had was worth the money I paid. The staff were helpful. I did inform the lady I paid at reception that I was unhappy with the bed.Parking: The car park had about 6 spaces. Get there before pub opening to get a place.

Absolutely superb, from the moment we walked in the door. Witty, attentive hosts, coupled with excellent food and drink. I started with soup (leek and potato, with a dusting of peppercorns, served with white bloomer bread). This was followed by tonight's special, which was the broccoli, leek, and carrot in cheese sauce, shortcrust pie, served with mash, gravy, and mixed greens. Then I had a cheeky blackberry mousse with a shortbread biscuit. My partner Adam had a Calamari starter, followed by lamb and redcurrant shortcrust pie (with mash, gravy, and mixed greens), followed by chocolate brownie and ice cream. Every course was simply delicious and beautifully presented. Lovely setting, very relaxed and friendly.

Lovely warm welcome from staff and the log fire, for us 3 and our Cocker Spaniel. Food was gorgeous ( highly recommend homemade Cottage Pie) good selection of Ales, a great choice we made to shelter from the monsoon rain. Will definitely visit again.
