The host Mel is brilliant, super friendly and very accommodating, we stayed for mountain biking trip and let us charge our e-bikes in her store room and even gave us a key to it, will be back ?

The food was overpriced and was nudging gastropub prices for very much 'standard' pub grub. Some of the massively thick chips weren't cooked, and the sandwich which we were assured by the waitress (who checked with the kitchen) would be toasted, wasn't toasted. On the upside at least the ingredients seemed fresh. The interior decor was ok but quite tired, and all the seat cushions were strained which was quite off-putting as we couldn't find unstained seats to sit at. In the end we decided to ask for the '10% discretionary tip' to be removed from our bill ... the first time I've ever done that in a restaurant. A pub of this calibre shouldn't be adding tips by default.

Although at the beginning of the season, we were welcomed from day one, as we were starting in the camping field for 10 days. The food is excellent and highly recommended. The service was second to none, and the staff were extremely friendly.

Becky was extremely helpful and attentive, amazing service and so lovely. The food was also really tasty and well worth the wait. Considering it was just Becky serving everyone, she did a fabulous job.

Absolutely love the Tyrrell, great location, good food & drink as well as lovely staff & landlady. My only gripe & maybe others won't agree was the suggested service charge of 10% when paying, tipping is my choice & I declined the charge & did tip as intended but I don't agree with the charge when just 2 people eating. It was the only negative. (For me)

This is a lovely pub/restaurant /campsite right in the middle of the New Forest. We are really looking forward to using their campsite during the winter months when we get muddy hiking in the New Forest.

Reliving childhood memories. Used to go here with my sister and parents as a child in the 60's. We were greeted by a very lovely lady, chatty and very friendly. Ordered 2 baguettes 1 with chicken and bacon and 1 with prawn with Marie Rose sauce with chips. A side of coleslaw which was massive ? I have a fish allergy so chef did my saute new potatoes instead of chips as they couldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be cross contamination. Half a larger and lime and a perfect glass of Guinness. The place doesn't look much different from what I can remember, big outside area, big car park and they accept campers and motorhomes. Overall a lovely few hours and topped off with a quick visit to Rufus Stone.

Good food for the money! Very friendly staff and everything was delicious! I really liked the bread for the soup! Cosy. A good place to take a break while exploring farms and forests! We wandered in by chance along the road and didn’t regret it. Thank you!
