Food was over cooked and took ages to fixed. Staff was rude and by the time the food came out everyone else had finished eating .

Thank you all the staff and chefs Nathen and Bradley sorry can't remember the other guy's name but all amazing, I have no connection to this place, other than Eating there today.Parking: We parked close to Southsea castle and enjoyed a short walk along the seafront.

I had lunch with a friend here & it was my first time in the pub. It seems & looks nice. The choice on the menu was OK. My friend & I chose to eat from the 2 for £12 menu & we chose the gammon. I had it with pineapple & standard. My friend had it with a jacket potato instead of chips with eggs instead of pineapple. It was good that they allowed the swop to a jacket instead of chips. However, our garden peas were under cooked, my chips were as well. The meal wasn't hot when presented & the place had a handful of tables occupied as it was only 12 noon. There wasn't an understandable reason why the meal wasn't cooked correctly & delivered cold.Would try again, but if it comes up thr same will avoid moving forward.

If I could give it Zero stars I would, the only highlight was the soft play for the kids.Staff seem absolutely uninterested in serving customers, took over an hour to get our food which was cold on arrival, needless to say I won't be returning. The Clarence should have stayed closed if this is the standard they've reopened with.Awful.

Carvery for Mothers Day.The "Chef" was very good at carving the meats on offer, he managed to get wafer thin slices from each one. I'm guessing he probably got a hundred slices from one joint !£1.50 extra for pigs in blankets?£1.50 for an extra slice of wafer thin meat ?Only veg was carrots and peas. Soft roast potatoes. Hard balls of stuffing.Macaroni cheese for some reason? Catering for vegetarians maybe ?The only impressive food was the home made Yorkshire Puddings .I won't be going back.

Beautiful pub! Such a shame it’s let down by the awful food and rude staff. Left half way through our lunch and let the staff on the door know it wasn’t great to be told “ don’t bother coming back then “

I would say it was good. We had a nice breakfest. Paid only £20 for a family of 4 including 2 kids under 16. You can eat as much as you like. The produce wasnt the top quality but it was fresh and freshly cooked and prepared. Clean in and out with lovely views of the harbour. We will come back.Parking: If you come in the morning on a weekend there will be spaces avalible in the afternoon it might be a bit of a struggle.
On my last visit with a friend for a catch up, it was relatively quiet. Only about 4 tables in use. Ordered a sharer starter and a mixed grill. Waited an hour and 15mins for the starter even though the restaurant was practically empty. They had no excuse really for the food to take that long. And then three quarters of an hour the mixed grill arrived.......which was cold and looked like it had been sat under heated lamps for a while. I complained to staff and manager whilst waiting and all they said is, 'I'll go and check on it for you' and then never updated me. The long wait really dampened the visit and me and my friend left very frustrated and annoyed. When I complained to the manager about it, he didn't really seem that bothered. I will not be returning. Service was very appalling.

Amazing food and great quality for the price. Children's play area was awesome and entertaining for the little ones whilst we waited a short time for the food to come out.Very warm welcoming from Kelly who couldn't do enough for us and Jules was great. The kitchen staff were also so accommodating and so friendly.Manager Kelly was mucking in every way possible with all her staff carrying out food, seating new customers and was so happy and friendly despite the manic day during February half term.Amazing team and atmosphere, we will definitely be back soon and 100% recommend xxx
