The Star is newly refurbished this year (2018), and has an amazing new chef - Lee. The menu is good quality pub fare with a specials board which varies according to seasonal produce. All the meat is sourced locally.
This pub used to be a really nice establishment. Under Leslie & Co it had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and upmarket feel. Since the new owners have taken over it has become more of an after thought, catering to a few mid week patrons and falling second behind the owner's car recovery/second hand business. 19 March 2022. This pub is closed. It still has a website, it is still on Google maps. The signs have been taken down and it looks as if the pub is being converted to a private house.
