Most of my reviews are 4-5 stars I would give this establishment zero stars if it were an option. We visited for lunch on a weekday, a few days before Christmas. My partner ordered the ribs which were £19 and the quality was atrocious. She couldn't stomach them. They had a strong taste and smell of rotten meat. My partner eats ribs anywhere, and never before came across ribs she couldn't eat. Staff said they tried them after we complained and said that's how they normally taste. They offered us a free dessert, but we declined as we didn't want any more of their bad food that already made my partner feel physically ill. Appropriate compensation would have been to offer (at least a partial) refund of the dish price.Moving on to the rest of the food:*Breaded mushrooms were weird, hard on the outside, and very watery inside.*Corn on the cob was soggy with no bite to it at all.*Beef burger was passable but not tidy or particularly tasty, definitely not great value for money.*Chips were OK.Overall, I'd say steer clear of this pub for food. You're better off eating at MacDonalds. There's also a much superior pub just a block up the road.

I visited the Balmoral Beefeater and, despite it not being too busy, the service was disappointingly slow. The food from the lunch menu arrived cold, but the taste was enjoyable once we finally received it. Improvements in service efficiency would enhance the overall dining experience.

Absolutely cannot rate this place enough. We popped in on the off chance and they managed to squeeze us in even though it’s Christmas! We had the fillet and the ribeye and the fillet was the best steak my girlfriend had ever had. The ribeye was also cooked to perfection. Can recommend the Mac n cheese!Attentive service from Sophie who was friendly but not too much!We’ll be back!

Couldn’t have had a more helpful and fantastic service. We hadn’t booked and were accommodated with a smile and such a friendly welcome. This made the world of difference as my son is autistic. Every single member of staff was polite, friendly and had a Christmas spirit. This is unquestionably down to the manager Sam who was just incredible and clearly a great leader. Can’t thank you enough

Fabulous Christmas Eve Breakfast. The restaurant was packed, but the staff were incredible and the food delicious. Despite it being busy (not surprising, given the date) the food was always stocked up and kept fresh. The manager in particular was very impressive and clearly cares about her customers.

NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES.After a 5 hours drive from Manchester with two hungry year 2 olds we were gutted to find out there was no room in the inn. Luckily the most amazing attentive hosts managed to find us a table and serve us food in an extremely polite and timely manner. The food was hot and delicious and the bar staff were also lovely, they were also great with our children! We are just sat here with a glass of wine wondering if the people from southampton are just simply all round nicer than mancunans because in 29 years of my life I have never received service like this in Manchester. 5 star all round, GIVE THEM A PAY RISE. I was looking for a place to eat that had been recommended to me but I was turned away. I had noticed the Balmoral beefeater as I passed, I returned and was welcomed by friendly staff. The service was attentive but not over the top. The steak I had was thoroughly enjoyable. I have returned for a second visit and even though the restaurant was very busy the service I received was excellent.
