After visiting slug and lettuce on a Sunday night for bottomless brunch I was blown away with the experience !! We were quite a big group (8 of us) but that didn’t seem to affect the amazing attentive team of slug and lettuce :))) the food was amazing and served quickly and hot. The drinks were fab all the cocktails were super delicious. Matt was our server for the night and he was super friendly and helpful, a perfect evening host.Thankyou so much for the experience :)Love gleneyrenetballHope to see you again soon !!

Another all five stars from me. The restaurant is very nice, location is easy to access. The one downside is that parking is quite limited in that area however, everything else is spot on. I would recommend to dine in for the best experience possible.The top five dishes I recommend are:1. Cheesy garlic bread (whole)2. Chefs Special Pizza3. Pollo Pesto Pasta4. Pollo Picollo Mondo chicken5. King PrawnsVegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian starters, pizzas, pastas and others. The range of food for vegetarians is a lot.Dietary restrictions: As a non red meat eater, In Italian food, the pizza choices do become limited aa I cannot eat pepperoni which is on most pizzas. I would have the Pollo pesto usually which is a creamy chicken pasta. The pizzas also do have quite a few vegan and a lot of vegetarian and poultry options.Parking: There is no parking next to the Restaurant but there is a parking lot nearby which may have parking but cannot guarantee it.Kid-friendliness: Nice range for children.

I was looking for somewhere nice, not too far from my partner's office, to take her for dinner, and I'm so glad I found this place ?I think it's fair to say that it's off the beaten track, but a lot of the best places are. We went straight from work, feeling kinda peckish, and left very happy, having had some iovey food (see pics) and drink in a nice, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.Food & drinks: The kitchen clearly know what they're doing. Homemade chicken Kiev was impressive, as was the [proper] cheesecake.

Soleto Bistro

Amazing food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. We visited on a very busy evening however this didn’t effect the service or quality. We had some specials from the menu as well as options from the menu and thoroughly enjoyed!

My wife and I went to The Cricketers Inn with a couple of friends for Sunday lunch. The staff were very courteous and efficient and the waitresses were attentive, but not in your faces. The roast dinner's we had were delicious. We will definitely return.

1st time here doing the bottomless brunch and the atmosphere is great, drinks flowing regularly. Staff are very friendly and accommodation. Would 100% recommend and will definitely coming back again ❤️

I went for the first time yesterday, and omg, they are sooo friendly...Food was amazing, service was also amazing...They let me know what had the spices what was hot, what was not...I'm ashamed I've never been there before...Fantastic all round.

Hello Coffee

It's a lovely little coffee shop that not only has lovely cakes and coffees, but offers freshly made India street food, if you ask. Just had Dim chat with a paratha wrap freshly cooked and was delicious. Josh the owner is friendly and nothing is too much trouble, customer service is very important to him. He also takes time to find out if you like all the ingredients and makes it to your taste. I encourage you all to try it.

Great atmosphere, extremely friendly, will definitely be visiting again, a must for anyone who loves food. Would also be great for larger parties. Felt like dining in Portugal itself.... SUPERB!!!

Amazing staff who took the time to explain games to adults and children. Huge selection of games. Good food and reasonable drinks selection. Would highly recommend and will be going back.

Fleming Arms

Visited yesterday as a party of 7 with very mixed food orders! The lady behind the bar (I believe her name was Jordan) was attentive, patient and most importantly…spot on! We’ve previously had quite a few orders put through incorrectly but always rectified (just takes extra time). Jordan made sure everything was accurate and was really patient with us too. Thank you!

Booked this for a pre cruise meal with friends based on the reviews and proximity to our hotel. The menu is extensive and has a particularly good vegetarian selection. Prices are reasonable. The dishes we had were well seasoned and quite spicy which we all enjoyed. However the Punjabi salad was way too hot making it pretty inedible. The garlic Nan was delicious. We felt the cheesecake at £7 for a tiny circle of a portion was a tad expensive. Service was superb. Food was all delivered swiftly and was hot and fresh. Would like to visit again and explore more of that they have to offer.

They have removed the coconut chicken from the menu :-(Very nice food and atmosphere. Great crispy beef and outstanding prawn toast! Please bring back the crispy coconut chicken!

Pitcher & Piano Southampton

Went for lunch on mother's day, the food was good, service was great, just a shame that it was covered in scaffolding on the outside, there would have been a lovely view otherwise.

Booked bottomless brunch - mix of ages. Brilliant from start to finish. We never had an empty glass and the food was delicious, good portion size too. Aramondo was looking after us, so attentive, friendly and patient!

Went in on a Monday night, at my daughter's recommendation. Got in there and the place felt a little shabby so I was a little bit dubious about it but was pleasantly surprised by the attention I received from the staff. All the staff that evening were very polite and attentive, which makes me want to go back. Myself and my daughters managed to play pool, which is free on a Monday, so that's another reason I'll be going back! Then sat down to have some food, not going to lie but wasn't expecting to much due to the cheap prices, but the food when it came out was very nice, nicely cooked and was enough to feel satisfied, again another reason for going back!All in all a very pleasant experience and will happily go back again.Thank you to all the staff that made it a pleasant evening.

Fantastic place, didn't have a chance to eat as I was running late to meet friends but the food looked 5* will be booking a table soon! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, managing to accommodate us on a Friday night. Atmosphere and decor were amazing and I honestly can't wait to go back again!

AMAZING. Family run restaurant. I felt like I was in Cyprus or Greece. The wine was good, service friendly, and the food was phenomenal. Giant garlic prawns and lamb kleftiko. The whole shoulder of lamb, roast potatoes (kleftiko style), rice and salad was all speak fresh. The lamb fell off the bone. The restaurant was clean, spacious and I couldn't fault this place

Am a local resident and have always had good experience with this garage over the years. Staff are always friendly and polite. But the only thing I have had a problem with is the cash machine. When it was shell It was constantly out of use. But now it seems it gets turned off every evening as works every day I've been but when had to go later that evening to get more money out it's not working. But then the next morning around 8/9 it's working again.

McDonald's

Best mcdonalds food out there. I'm not joking I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here but have had so many good ones. My only gripe is the team on the front are a little unaware of how loud their conversation is.Vegetarian options: The mcplant is decent

What excellent service received today lunchtime 9th January. I do not often leave reviews but sometimes service should be praised and today two members of the team were giving super service. Carried my tray to my table for me and a lovely lady who was very polite when she served me and went beyond when she helped a lady that nocked her drink over.

Go there ....don't make big orders online for say 7 people or 6 or 5 like normal families they always miss something out ....someone always has to go without orders take forever online even when you live 10 minutes away better to go in no problems

Staying locally and went here for dinner on 2nd November 2023. The sirloin steak was melt-in-the-mouth. Surroundings comfortable, staff friendly and attentive. Couldn't fault the service.

Fox & Hounds

Service a little slow but friendly.Food generally good but the roast beef is on another level of toughness! Really need a steak knife to cut it and an extra jaw to help chew it.Oh, and two roasts were missing parsnips ? I assume they ran out but nothing was said.

The Elm Tree Inn

We revisited the Elm Tree after we were unimpressed with it about 5 years ago.The pub is attractive and the bar area is particularly snug, with a woodburner (open fire in the restaurant area). Decent selection of ales and the wine was "a lot better than most pubs".However, we were bemused by being told that they didn't serve food in one bar area (where dogs are allowed) but didn't allow dogs in the other bar area (where food was served). We would have eaten but we had the dog with us. Seems strange, and so I wouldn't really describe it as 'dog friendly'. Contrary to some reviews, we found the staff friendly.

Farmers Home

Great tradional British pub grub. We didn't book but they found us a table in back room, really busy. Always a good sign. We were staying at The Oakes and walked round.

Ed's Easy Diner

I'm not normally one for burgers but I found one here that suited me down to the ground. The service was quick but not rushed and the food was obviously fresh. The thing that stood out to me though was our waiter Henry. What a genuinely lovely and funny guy. I cannot speak highly enough of him and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Henry!

Langley Tavern

I can’t get enough of their burritos! So delicious and quality is very consistent.Vegetarian options: BBQ jackfruit burrito is absolutely delicious. You can have it either vegetarian or vegan.

The Thai Corner Restaurant

Visited Thai Corner Restaurant again recently. Excellent meal as usual. Staff welcoming and waiter service good despite the restaurant being later full. Only criticism really was that when we arrived for an early evening booking, the restaurant was near empty however within the hour the small restaurant room became full to capacity and the resultant noise became almost unbearably loud to such extent that you could not hear yourself or your partner speak. It detracted somewhat from an otherwise pleasant and enjoyable evening meal.

Had a lovely evening meeting up with my brother and sister in law. Great choice of venue with very extensive menu. All pleased with our food choices. Made even better by the great service from Fiona. Very friendly and smiley and nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be returning.

the servers here are always so lovely despite how busy westquay is. no major problems with the food except that the bamboo shoots were not as nice this time around going, and the grilled chicken ramen does always seem to take the longest out of anything else ive ever ordered to come. however, the squid in the small plates part SO makes up for that !! never had better squid.

Bella Italia - Southampton Hanover

Bella Italia in Southampton offers decent service and a variety of Italian dishes. Their vegetarian pizza, while above mediocre, lacks that wow factor. However, the cozy ambiance and friendly staff compensate for any shortcomings. It's a decent spot for a casual Italian meal, but don't expect the pizza to blow you away.

Best chinese I have ever had, Im a vegetarian and there are so many veggie options, the quorn curry is my favourite I order it all the time! Not a lot of chinese take always have this much options for us veggies. The food is also made super quick and the staff are so lovely! Tang's

Tangs has supposedly been part of Southampton for twenty years or more by this point. They have a buffet style menu, lazy Susan tables and they were fairly busy on a Saturday evening. The decor is looking a little dated but the food did not disappoint. I had the prawn chow mein and salt and pepper squid which were both delicious and fresh.

TASTE OF CHINA Chinese Takeaway

Just had the best Chinese meal I have ever eaten from these guys tonight.Salt & Pepper Squid.Excellent meal with the correct spices and onions.The rest of our tea was also really good.They deserve to be popular with quality food like we have eaten tonight.Wish my local in Coventry was half as good.Martin

Pizza Hut Delivery

We are regular customers to Pizza hut. Their pizza is one of the best in the UK. We had two medium size half and half pizza and they were very tasty. The beef sizzler is my favourite whereas its the margarita who my partner likes the most. The cheesy nachos is my favourite side and its so delicious. Their delivery is always on time as it was today.The Prices gone up by a bit for the same pizzas that we used to have (hence a missing star).

Friendly service, good food. Don't come here if you want a cheap meal, as the menu is fairly expensive. But you get what you pay for with the food and atmosphere. Would recommend!

My friend and I popped in here tonight on a whim for dinner and we were not disappointed!Ross, Klaudia and the team were so friendly and welcoming from the beginning.We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were just as ashetically pleasing as they were tasty! Levi the bartender really made them 10/10.We ordered the Mini Gastro tasting menu which consisted of 5 courses. Each one was presented so well and tasted incredible.Amazing food and impeccable service. We will definitely be returning!

Quite possibly the most authentic Thai restaurant in England. The quality of the food is second to none. Excellent service and a wonderful ambience make dining a delight every time. You have to give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Not as good now, it was better in past, is I always have a mega melt with brown sauce and proper sausages and not the sausage patty you now give, they are not the same, please go back to when they were better, as the service for your staff A1 brilliant nice and friendly.

The Fish Station

Ein Fish&Chips Imbiss wie man es sich wünscht. Das Essen war super lecker, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Preise sind auch voll in Ordnung für die großen Portionen - als Snack reichte uns eine Portion zu, die wir uns geteilt haben. Ich kann es nur jeden empfehlen, der in der Gegend ist hier her zu kommen. Vielen Dank!

West End Brewery

We came last night for quiz night and dinner, at first we were rejected as we hadn't booked, but we insisted when we saw an empty table. Prices are so cheap for food. Good quality price, so much choice, it was hard to choose. We started with nachos and then a burger and kebab. Just great while quizzing. 80 questions but time flew. £1 to play and the winners win the amount collected. So the more the merrier. Will definetly come back!

Nice little cafe. I popped in for coffee and a cake while some work was being done on my car down the road. Nicely furnished, good coffee and friendly staff. Next time, I might sample their cooked breakfasts!

SAUCE kebab & pizza

Best pizza and burgers I’ve had in Southampton thus far, excluding fine dining. When I want a quick bite, this is the place I keep going back to. The service has always been perfect. They have never gotten my items wrong or not given me something I ordered or asked for. Hands down the best place to get pizza and burgers.

I love coming to this place, I always get received with a smile the food (see photo) is prepared and cooked well. This cafe gives you that warm feeling of comfort and in the summer offers a unique outdoor garden that overlooks the Isle of Wight ferry Terminal. A lovely, light, bright cafe area in the foyer area of the Church Hall. Craft activities also going on in neighbouring rooms, according to time & day. Serves excellent food and tea/coffee at reasonable prices. Highly recommended. Well worth a visit. Open until 5pm.

Cafe Aroma Shirley

Four of us chose this establishment for lunch and were welcomed with great flavours and excellent service. The homemade chicken curry was fantastic. There are many different combinations with Jacket Potatoes. They have a rich menu and friendly staff. Thanks again to the kitchen team.

Always reliably good quality fish and chips. There is a far wider menu, but I have never felt the need to deviate from the standards. The chips are great! (Maris Piper if I am not mistaken. What a dull man I am ?)

The Bucks Head

The Bucks Head appeared as a little slice of Heaven to my friend and I after a very wet, cold walk across the South Downs. They welcomed us in, showed us to our lovely rooms (me downstairs, her upstairs) and were at pains to ensure we had all we needed before leaving us to the joy and luxury of the wonderful power showers and baths with endless hot water.Each room had its own en-suite. Each one beautifully decorated and appointed with lots of helpful extras. The bedrooms were similarly stocked with tea & coffee etc etc (though it was also easily obtained in the bar. The rooms were far enough from the bar that we weren’t disturbed, but still part of the main pub so I felt comfortable goin in in stockinged feet!After our ablutions the manager Luke had reserved us a cosy corner table in the pub, near to one the two open fires. All the tables were candle-lit, and a large glass of wine and one of the magnificent house specialty pizzas each helped dissolve away any remaining stresses from our cold, wet walk.We went to bed and slept soundly all night on the very comfortable mattresses. In the morning our respective choices of cooked breakfast were waiting for us at the pre-arranged time, and this, plus another incredibly helpful bar manager -Liam- meant that we set off on the next stretch of our walk two very different women from the shivering drowned rats who had arrived the previous day.I know it sounds like I work for them, but I assure you I don’t! I just don’t have enough words to express how special this place and its two managers were. I haven’t even mentioned the special boot drier, the helpful tumble drying, the local taxi advice and how the whole place is designed with walkers in mind - right down to the flooring! Seriously, don’t even think about staying anywhere else. To miss out on this little gem would be madness. We will be back for sure.
