I'm watching Howard's way ??

This is a very traditional boat builders yard situated right next to the Upper River Hamble. It is also steeped in a lot of rich historical tradition as well. However, it is probably most well known for being the setting for the fictional, 'Mermaid Yard' in the glamorous and glitzy 1980's BBC TV yachting drama 'Howards' Way'.

We stopped here to fill up with water. I have never been in a more welcoming place. We stayed for a few days. Thanks again for the hospitality. ??

A friendly, efficient family-run yard. Lovely atmosphere and competitively priced. Highly recommended.

Excellent personal service - Matt and Beth swiftly came to our rescue, as our RIB had become swamped with water due to a faulty bilge pump and poor battery. The Elephant Boatyard team managed to get the half sunken RIB out of the water the same day as the issue was sighted, and drained.Superb prompt service and very friendly - can’t recommend the yard highly enough…. Thanks teamService: General repairs & maintenance

Excellent work .

The elephant was the only yard we considered for Musketeer. A close knit team for whom no request is too big or small. Loads of atmosphere in and around the yard and always someone on hand to either help with a request or problem or simply have a chat with. I cant think of a better place to spend a sunny evening on board with a glass in hand!

The Elephant was the obvious place to bring Ivy Green, when we brought her back to the Solent 5 years ago... After all they built her! It’s a sheltered oasis at the top of the hectic Hamble. A proper boatyard, full of interesting boats, that’s run by a friendly and knowledgable team. They’re still building new boats too, as well as maintaining a varied fleet of old and new.
