I booked to go there Friday evening. Got shown to my table outside the entrance to the barn. It was quite cold there I asked to move to the upper seating area where there was a log fire burning. They had no table available. So I left. I definitely wouldn't recommend going there on anything but a warm day

Service a little slow but friendly.Food generally good but the roast beef is on another level of toughness! Really need a steak knife to cut it and an extra jaw to help chew it.Oh, and two roasts were missing parsnips ? I assume they ran out but nothing was said.

Great value, great food delivered in a timely fashion. Lovely atmosphere in the old barn. Above all I didn’t have to wait 10 minutes for my first beer.

Great atmosphere, although it can be a little dark. Wait times can be a little slower then most but over all a really nice place!I have been here a few times and the food is amazing, I had this Korean brisket thing, that was on the specials, it was amazing! Honestly I truly recommend this place!Gluten free options are a little limited but they are amazing, my sister and mum both recommend this place! They are both celiac!Dietary restrictions: They have great Gluten free options for Celiac people!

Is this pub under new management or something?I attempted to take my mother to Fox and Hounds, Bursledon for lunch today. My mother has recently become wheelchair bound due to dementia. I am not an accessibility zealot but this has been an eye opener in terms of accessibility issues and I must admit to in the past, not really being aware of the problems disabled people face on a daily basis. On arrival at the pub I searched for wheelchair access and started to wheel my mother to the front of the building. The main area where there should have been access had sandbags blocking the entrance. These sandbags have been blocking any wheelchair access here for at least the past six months. They were there when I came to the pub for lunch last summer. They should have been moved ages ago or access issues dealt with. It is a complete mess around this whole area.We attempted to go around these sandbags. So much grit got stuck in the wheels of my mum's wheelchair that it blocked up the brakes and I had difficulty moving her forward. Her front wheels then got stuck in a drain near the sandbags. My mother nearly tipped out of the chair and it took all my strength to stop this from happening.I then attempted to wheel her along the road in front of the pub desperately trying to find access.I gave up and managed to wheel my mother towards the car park at the side of the building again.I briefly had to leave my mother outside (she cannot be left on her own) to ask a member of staff how to access the pub with a wheelchair. A woman (the Manager?) came out of the back of the pub and vaguely waved me in the direction I had just come from. I explained we had already been that way and could not see the access. I asked if she meant where the sandbags were. She said yes. I asked exasperatedly how I was supposed to get a wheelchair over sandbags that had already clogged up my mother's wheels. Things got a bit heated and I admit I did raise my voice, the woman called me a 'cow' and told me to 'go somewhere else' and stormed back into the pub.I was attempting manoeuvre my mother back towards our car to go somewhere else when a man (presumably the Manager's boss) came out and started shouting at me and telling me I had made his Manager cry. I can't imagine she is a very good Manager if she can't take a valid complaint from a now very angry customer. My mother who gets very upset with any stress due to her dementia was now crying and wailing. The man started trying to film us. We both felt extremely intimidated. I have no idea why you would start trying to film a disabled person with dementia who was already in a great deal of distress. What was the motive to this? The woman (Manager?) who seemed to have made a miraculous recovery from crying came outside again and was now trying to stop the man from filming. We then drove off and had a lovely meal elsewhere. This was my experience of customer service today at The Fox and Hounds Bursledon.I understand that accessibility is an issue for a lot of establishments and that pubs generally try accommodate as much as possible. This was disgracefully not the case in this instance.I am quite shocked at the behaviour of the staff at this establishment and am attempting to find out who the owners are to escalate this complaint.

One of our favourite dinner spots, we had a lovely time here for a family Mother's Day meal. Food was fab as always (never had a bad roast), something for everyone. Ellen's service was amazing, she was so friendly and attentive, we were thoroughly looked after. Will be returning soon!

It was extremely cold when we arrived and people were complaining, but the staff brought in heaters and later moved us to a warmer part of the pub. They have a deal at the moment. £15 for dinner plus a starter or a pudding. Very good.
