The pandan chicken was okay. The jungle curry wasn't great. The mango sticky rice was absolutely gross...and that is putting it mildly. Don't bother going here.

This restaurant used to be top quality and reasonably priced. We had duck rolls for starters - soggy pastry a mush of something that tasted of nothing, certainly not duck The curries were very thin compared to previous visits and my three chillies choice was very bland The total bill was £50 for one starter, two curries and one pint of beer, very overpriced

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food was delicious and cocktails lovely, the decor of the restaurant gives a immersive experience taking you to Thailand. I also liked the fact that the owners/mangers and staff were all Asian. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food can beautifully presented and nice and hot.If I lived in Southampton I would be at this restaurant at least once a week!!I highly recommend Thailkun.

Wheelchair access good, unsure about accessible toilets as I didn't use them. Staff had to move a few things for us to get to our table but did so quickly and efficiently.Starter was great, thoroughly enjoyed the sharing meal. Unfortunately my main meal was too spicy for me despite the kitchen staff's best efforts to make it as mild as possible, but I was very relieved that the wait staff offered to get an alternative made for me at no extra cost. Extremely grateful for this, and the replacement choice was absolutely delicious. They also made my husband's meal extra hot on his request which he really loved and thoroughly enjoyed.Cannot rate the staff service highly enough, everyone was so kind and helpful, it made for a lovely time and we would absolutely go there again in the future.

After reading positive reviews online I decided to take my partner for dinner at the Southampton branch of Thaikhun. We eat out regularly and both like Thai food. Upon arrival the whole place was clad with scaffolding and we had to snake our way through the building site to find the entrance, we arrived on time for our reservation. When we entered there was no mention of the huge amount of missing dishes (at 7pm when we arrived there were 13 dishes missing from the menu) there was no mention until we had been shown to our seats and handed the menus. I had called earlier that evening to confirm the booking and there was no mention then either, we had actually travelled to the restaurant on the train from out of town to come and eat here. After being walked through the restaurant and seated, drinks order taken we were then informed that there were a lot of dishes missing, if we had been told this as we entered we would 100% have gone elsewhere. There were no salads, no chefs specials, no share platters, and no mention of this until it was too late and drinks orders had been taken. It was embarrassing to leave as we had already been seated. After seeing that all the things that tempted us to the restaurant weren’t available we were told to choose something else, so we settled on the satay to start and some other mains that we didn’t really want as the selection was absolutely minimal. Within minutes we were informed that the satay was also not available. So through embarrassment, already been shown in and having place an order for drinks before actually being told of the issue we just ordered some of the available mains. The food was very average, very sweet and not representative of Thai food I have had in the past. I understand this is a chain restaurant but it was just not acceptable. I have since emailed the restaurant and have had zero feedback. On top of this they said they have a blue light special for nhs workers, my partner works for the nhs as a nurse so we used her blue light card. When the receipt came the discount we were told we would get was then cancelled out with the (optional) service charge that was put on the bill without being mentioned. All in all it was a bad experience, bad selection, bad food and we were tricked to our table to eat from a very limited menu. No response from Thaikhun at all. For a meal for 2 for £65 on a Tuesday evening it was an absolute shambles and we will not be returning. There is much better and more authentic food out there. I recommend you find it. Avoid.

This was quite simply the best Thai food I’ve had outside of South East Asia. All 4 dishes we ordered were fantastic, arriving so quickly that there was no doubt how fresh they were. We will be going back!

My favourite restaurant in westquay Shopping centre. Always friendly and welcoming staff. The most authentic Thai food in South.

Very good main courses but sadly a few issues. The food was hot and well presented however the rice ordered with the main courses was a disappointment. Considering the price of rice you’d expect a decent size for the cost on the menu- around £4.50 per portion. Each portion was in a small round dish, not enough for most adults. Drinks menu generally good though we were overcharged for our drinks. I didn’t check the bill until I’d paid it.

We met here for lunch as I miss Thai food, having lived in Thailand. I chose Kao Soi Gai which was beautifully presented and tasty. My daughter enjoyed Guay Tiew Pad Sie Eiew (Chicken Street Noodles). Service was friendly and efficient. I felt sorry for the restaurant as they have had scaffolding outside for weeks, making it gloomy and difficult to find. We’ll happily return …

Well, it was busy for all the wrong reasons. Customers left waiting for over 40 minutes for food. Waiting staff commenting in customers earshot, “phew damage limitation” Our food finally arrived after 30 minutes, it was just average, once we had finished we then waited for almost 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge the fact that we had finished, but they were too busy loading up the deliveroo riders. I then stood up and went to the bar area and asked if I could pay our bill, as we were not prepared to wait any further. The waitress then grabbed a PDQ machine, she didn’t bother to ask why I had come to the bar to pay or even how the food was and then went on to grab my bank card out of my hand. I can’t see this place lasting very long as the staff clearly overlook customer service. Don’t bother with this place, just go to a proper Thai restaurant.

To say that this restaurant is on the edge of an entertainment complex it was absolutely amazing food and service We had the Pinto menu for two people. There was enough food to feed a family. Not only was there plenty of food but it was so tasty and despite our best efforts we struggled to finish it all. All staff members we encountered were professional and friendly. This will definitely be a first stop for us next time we're in Southampton. Ricardo and Ben were fabulous and a huge credit to Thaikhun. They answered all our menu questions and made us feel very welcome

Dropped in the night before we went on a cruise. Staff fantastically attentive. Had the sharing platter, really good, and the massaman and Thai chilli and basil curry with stir fry veg and sticky rice. Amazing flavours, really hot and nicely spicy. Really enjoyed it.

Finished the afternoon team event with an early dinner at Thaikhun. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table for 7. The staff were all very friendly and fairly quickly they took our drinks order. Allowing time for us to study the menu whilst drinks were prepared and delivered. Food order taken and starters arrived in good time. Then main courses arrived around 5 to 10 minutes after starters were cleared away. Loved the décor and the food was very good. Only one -ve comment, the Chilli Squid did not have much chilli.

A Birthday Celebration... lovely atmosphere and the restaurant is decorated well with lots of pictures which reminded us of our visit to a wonderful country!! The food was amazing... really tasty, big portions and freshly made, the service was speedy and the staff were great, chatty and smiling. We made a special request for the plant based chicken in a dish that was not ment to have it in and the chef was extremely accommodating. we will be back !!
