Perfectly cooked, not greasy, light batter and haddock flaky as it should be. Be aware, cash only, which costs to withdraw over the road. My only gripe was not being able to put my own salt and vinegar on. This seems to be the custom these days and this place is like any other in this regard. Why can't we put our own salt and vinegar on any more? I was offered ketchup, which was appreciated. Very good.

First off, glad we did not take other peoples 1 stars detour us from this awsome establishment!! Everyones taste buds and judgments are different and everyones entitled to their own opinions. That being said our experience was amazing, from greeted upon entry too the friendly man behind the counter who offered to show us a type of fish we were not familiar with! The place was small and quiet with nice tunes and most importantly beyond clean!! The fish and chipz was beyond delicious and definitely in the affordable catagory !! With all that tied into the equation on our amazing experience, it was the sign under the menu that said "made to order" that sealed the deal for us to choose this spot. (We spotted a fish and chipz spots 5 mins up the street and had what appeared to be plenty of things sitting in hot cases to be served...) We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is considereing fish and chipz (or anything probably) but thats all we were craving on an affordable level. Awsome staff and cleanslyness. Thank you for our monday night treat and greatly enjoyed your company and services !! ?

We took our children here for dinner during our stay in Portsmouth and found this place based on the Google Reviews.The food was excellent and at a good price. The owner was warm and very hospitable while my family stayed to eat at the shop. Highly recommended for good fish and chips. I also enjoyed the mushy peas, curry sauce and pickles!
